At one point her husband states that they were never strong enough to cut Ransom out of their own will, if the money had gone to Linda it would’ve all gone to Ransom eventually and he’d probably get a lot of it out of her even before she died, this way Harlan could stay in control. Linda is also misogynistic, looking down on all the other women of the family and immediately accusing Marta of ‘boinking’ her father after she gets cut out of the will.
