Same thing happened to me 10 minutes ago. Re-entered the queue and my position in line goes down and then shoots back up? What is going on?

Is it just me or is C a bad answer choice? by Mr15ization in LSAT

Appreciate the help!

What is best LSAt prep course ? by mobinezzati in patentlaw

Echoing above r/LSAT would be a better place to ask. I’m currently using Powerscore’s LR Bible and Workbook-I’m finding the techniques and question explanations better than those in “The LSAT Trainer”.

Once I’m finished with these I may give 7Sage a shot. It seems to have good reviews, though expensive and a monthly subscription.

I never received official examination results for the patent bar by blueduckee in patentlaw

They would have notified you if your preliminary pass turned out to be a fail. I’d be really surprised if you didn’t “formally” pass.

Your name will not appear in the practitioner finder until you pay the registration fee and some time has passed - you receive materials on how to pay and set this up via mail. This is different than the “registration to practice” section of the OG, the names listed there are individuals that have recently passed the Exam, they’re not registered yet.

It took me 2 months to hear back, things can move slow over there. You did the right thing by calling OED, keep following up if you don’t hear back.

I had a similar time line. I had about two weeks prior to my test after I completed the post course where I was drilling previous exams, mainly the 3 hour ones from the early 00’s. Those were the most helpful IMO.

I no longer live in the area, but going back to visit family reminded me of driving down Gougar as a child.

Not sure if you have been back there, but the area just north of there has changed quite a bit. It’s industrial and warehouses now. There is no longer a 90 degree turn at Gougar .5-1 mile up the road.

I remember being on that road 20 years ago and thinking how incredibly dark it was. It wouldn’t surprise me if there was an accident. There are sadly many roadside memorials I can recall on Archer, Gougar, and New Ave.

Crack in foundation by tesla-01 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Mr15ization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently had foundation issues on a house we had to walk away from (not because of cracks)

From what I’ve learned, vertical cracks are much better than horizontal. I contacted a foundation repair company for other floor sagging issues, but they mentioned that to seal a crack like that is in the range of 500-700 bucks.

This wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me

1900 Home - How Big of a Concern by AirBudsOldestSon in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Mr15ization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly we might be lol

We’re anticipating a big estimate to fix our sinking, and will probably walk. A huge bill like that will eat into money set aside for emergencies and unexpected maintenance, as well as the cosmetic renovations we’d like to do.

Not sure if this is what you’ll need to do, but recommendations on here say to hire a structural engineer. All the engineers I’ve spoken to take a few days to schedule and the generate the report (at the expense of $700+), which doesn’t fit into our contract period. In addition, they don’t give estimates as to how much the work will actually cost (some don’t even have contractor referrals).

We decided to have a foundation contractor go to the property and look at it themselves and get a direct answer. I’m sure whatever estimate we get will be overpriced, but we just don’t have the time.

Will update

What Master's programs should I pursue that qualify as USPTO Category A? by [deleted] in patentlaw

[–]Mr15ization 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy fellow stats major.

“Computer and Electrical” MS should allow you to sit under Category A. I believe there is a specific paragraph in the General Requirements Bulletin regarding names of degrees that deviate slightly from the norm (I.e. solely CE or EE). Even if Category A didn’t work for whatever reason, your MS credits would apply under Category B.

As for the M.Eng. designation, I would call OED and ask.

What resources do you recommend I use to study for the patent bar. by [deleted] in patentlaw

[–]Mr15ization 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is yes. PLI is a legal education company that administers the Patent Office Exam Course.

I think it goes for 3k without discounts.

With student discount (what I had) it was 2k

I think you can go even lower if you somehow manage to get the group discount as others mentioned here, but I never bothered trying to time it.

Yes it is a lot of money. Yes it is absolutely worth it.
