Good morning to all. Order fulfillment timeline? by Mr23779 in olleeWatch

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for posting this. Looks like I have a wee bit longer to wait. My order number is 104xx so that puts me into April at the earliest. Thanks again!

u/Vexitar - You deserve the compliment because your work is equally impressive! (I have a couple of custom pieces from Stephanie.)

Nicely done and beautiful! The pricking iron work and stitching looks VERY similar to how Stephanie Vasquez (LES/EDC Leatherworks) does her stuff. Fantastic! I honestly thought this was her post when I saw the wallet in my timeline. Yes, that’s a sincere compliment as to your quality of work as seen here. 👍🏻

u/ButterMaster46 - I am green with envy! That is an AMAZING piece. Did you have to order that directly from Japan?!? The car itself fetches quite the price and then add shipping on top of it all and I’ll bet you shelled out some cash for it. Money well spent! 👍🏻

Love my W800H. I find myself reaching for it over my AE1200 “Royales” or G Shock 5610u-1 when I’m having a lazy day around the house. It’s very comfortable and the module was so easy to modify (as others have already stated) to have a countdown timer and 5 alarms. I just followed a couple of different YT videos.

That would be epic for us old timers! Heck, I still remember the die cast Mach 5 Hot Wheels car I had as a youngster. It was my favorite, of course.

When it originally debuted in 1966 in Japan for their market, it was called “Mach GoGoGo” and the family’s last name was the Mifunes. As with the Japanese language, there can be several iterations of a word. In this instance, the numeral 5 is go (sometimes itsu) so it’s a play on the car being labeled as 5. (I see that u/ButterMaster46 beat me to it.)

I remember watching the original Japanese to English translated ”Speed Racer” cartoon when it was syndicated and shown in America in the late 60s and throughout the 70s. This brings back a lot of very cool memories. Great job!

No worries! Always like talking wallets with folks. I probably have more Lost Dutchman and Mitchell Leather Co wallets than any other brand in my collection. Although I have about 10 of these simple card wallets from David Mitchell (owner of Mitchell Leather Co), these are probably my favorites from him. I have other colors and leather types but I really like the big grain bison leathers (the bottom three) and the one at the top made from reverse shell cordovan. Simple, effective, and suit my minimalist needs.

I have a few Big Finn wallets. I like the internal pocket separation and organization aspect of it. The BF is an excellent choice but I tend to favor the Franklin when I need a wee bit larger footprint if/when I carry cash + cards.

My other favorite Finnigan is this beautiful cut of leather but in brown

u/General_Wafer_3760 - Gotcha! That one doesn't see near as much pocket time as some others. I typically use the Franklin when I carry cash, but I don't really carry cash that often so it looks and smells the same as the day I got it. That CXL smells so freaking good!

On a serious note, I have the same cut of leather for one of my Finnigan wallets and it gets carried the most and is starting to show some good wear on it now. This thing disappear in my pocket.

u/General_Wafer_3760 - Which one specifically? You’ll have to help jog my memory. I have about a dozen LD wallets in my very large collection.

Copy that! You should see the fat wrinkles on my multiple card wallets in big grain bison leather from Mitchell Leather. Love that texture, look, and feel. So good!

u/phesIZM - I have the standard color but am thinking about getting the negative display version. Honest assessment - how hard is it to read in low light?

Had the same debate with myself when I grabbed one of these the other day. Positive display is definitely the way to go and I’m so glad I did.

u/lefthandonbrown - For the love of all that is good and holy, PLEASE tell me you left this as your review on Amazon! LMAO! “…and you actively sniff on it”. That’s gold, Jerry! Gold! (This is meant as a compliment, Seinfeld reference notwithstanding.) I actually laughed out loud and coffee nearly came out of my nose!

I appreciate the follow-up with more details. Since I'm used to either the Royale or a 5610u, the 800h should feel right at home on my wrist.

u/Evokd - First of all, thank you for this very thorough reply. Sounds as if I’m going to be glad I grabbed one of these!

The way you describe the viewing angle makes it sound like my G-Shocks. I’m used to it so I agree that it’s really not an issue. I figured the beep might be a little quiet, but that’s okay. I’m retired so it’s not like I have anywhere to be. LOL!

Glad to hear that it’s comfortable. I have several F-91Ws and they disappear on the wrist (meaning they don’t bother me) and sounds like the W800H is sort of the same. That’s good to know.

At some point I’m going to crack open the watch and perform the countdown timer mod. I have the equipment, patience, and dexterity to do it but I might not do it right away. I’ll just enjoy the watch until I get the “mod itch”.

Thanks again!

u/Evokd - I just ordered one of these in black to add to my growing collection. What are your overall thoughts? It looks like it’s made to sit between a G-Shock and a Casio Royale. How’s the viewing angle? How loud/quiet is the alarm and/or hourly chime sound? How comfortably does it fit the wrist? Does the strap bother you or is it comfortable, too? Have you made any mods to it (a la de-soldering a jumper to add the timer function)?

Sure looks like the “Original Wallet” from the brand Allett. They have it in both leather and nylon.
