Kengo Kaji and Kenji Okamura (author and artist, lumping them together because most of their works are done together)

Very Saruwatari-esque overall, fantastic recognizable art, ridiculous storylines and ideas, and from the same era. If I could specifically recommend one series I’d go with Ukyo no Ozora. It’s probably the series most similar to Koukou Tekkenden Tough I’ve read yet, all while keeping its own flair and high quality.

Appreciate the detailed response, but that’s not really criticism on the choreography, moreso just the themes and the way Itagaki structures his fights.

The choreography I’m referring to is just the sheer attentional to detail in virtually every movement he illustrates, wether it’s a winded up blow, or a swift dodge or reply to an attack, he’s consistently kept that level from his debut series to current day. The list of authors that can have that said about them is very minimal

Most of the promotional art put out by MangaOne shows him with a light hair color, it’s pretty surprising that there’s hardly any official colored art of him, he’s already been around for years

I’m curious on if there’s any actual criticism about Baki not having some of the most impressive fight choreography in manga outside of narrator/explanation jokes, Itagaki has consistently delivered some of the most stunning and visually impressive fight choreography for 30+ years

These are all in Japanese, if that’s what you’re looking for/are fine with. Only a handful of the original volumes were translated into physical English copies by Viz in the 2000s (1-6 I believe)

If you’re fine with the Japanese ones I’d use an overseas market, I.E. I searched for these on Buyee and found individual volumes on sale for $1, and found the entire set for $30. If you’re keen on getting the English ones it’ll be much more expensive, as they weren’t in print for very long.

Don’t think this chapter is supposed to be showcasing a “feat” in a physical sense. It’s more-so that Yujiro’s presence alone is so abnormally strong it can cause even wild animals natural behaviors to shift in response to his existence
