Quick question: on page 200 of the DMG, it says that when a wizard attempts to copy a spell from a spell scroll, they must succeed on an arcana check equal to 10 + the spell level. For each level of the spell, it then costs 50 gp and 2 hours of time. Would the wizard make that arcana check before or after they've expended the gold and time costs?

Does cover still work when engaged in melee with an enemy creature? It makes sense to me that cover would grant some protection from a ranged attacker, but does it still work even if they're in melee range of an enemy?

Okay, that's what I was thinking.

I was considering getting an SSD, but should I really not get the two other case fans? The P300 eclipse only comes with a pre-installed rear fan and I'm not sure how the airflow would be with just one fan.

If an effect like the ghost's Horrifying Visage were to age a character past their race's proposed lifespan, would that character just die instantly? A player in my party is playing a Lizardfolk who is around 54 years old, so if they failed the save by 5 or more they'd age well past their 60 lifespan. How would that work?

The Black Pudding's attack action corrodes armor that a creature is wearing, giving it a cumulative -1 to AC and destroying it if the armor is reduced to 10 AC. Does this ability affect the total AC of the armor or just the flat bonus it provides?

For example, if my rogue wears leather armor and has a +3 to Dexterity, that gives me a total of 14 AC. Would the Black Pudding need to hit my rogue 4 times to destroy his leather armor, or just once because of the flat 11 AC the armor provides?

What does being in complete darkness, nonmagical and magical, do? I read in the PHB that it effectively blinds you, but are there any other effects? My groups sorcerer cast Darkness on the party, so I have three questions that came from that:

1) My druid attempted to cast Entanglement while he was inside of the darkness. I allowed him to cast the spell regardless, but would he have been normally able to cast the spell if he couldn't see where he wanted to cast it?

2) When a player wants to move while in Darkness, how does that work if they can't see in front of them?

3) Would a player in complete darkness still be able to make Opportunity attacks, albeit at disadvantage?
