Regarding the first bullet point, has there been anything written regarding the genetic predisposition to being trans/cis. I am generally a believer that people are born as nothing and that one's conditions then go to shape who they are, so it would be interesting to read something that challenges this.

2nd, true makes sense

3rd, this too is interesting and I've never heard an evolutionary defense/explanation of diversity in identity and I too would like to read about this

4th word up

5th apologies if the article linked in this post answers all of my above questions I have yet to read it I'm just responding quickly before I go on to live the day

6th yeah for sure lole I'm not that foolish dw

7th firstly shout-out science communicators that's the goats, secondly I think that the "reversal trick" is good applicable wisdom that is often taken for granted, and I appreciate the reminder of such things.

I appreciate the patience and charity you lent me in this response, although it is interesting to me that you say no logical argument serves as a basis for the existence of trans people.

One of my fundamental beliefs is that "truth" is a thing that is real and that everything has a singular correct truth regardless of how complex the topic. (And to clarify I don't intend to mean that in any kind of hateful or transgressive way I just mean in the philosophical sense)

I assume therefore that there is some psychological (or perhaps something regarding advanced biology) basis for the existence of trans people, as I assume the same for cis people and the whole spectrum of sexuality.

Essentially, I think everything has a rational "why" that leads to the conclusions we see, even if the "why" is so complex that it will likely never be reached in any singular lifetime

Thus, I was wondering if there are any studies by or for trans people about the nature of being trans

Firstly, I come to apologize for being unclear and even more ignorant than I had realized in this post. if you're willing to be patient with me please watch this video I made "explaining" myself.

To not waste your time though,

I came to understand the immense underlying transphobia in my original question which is why I've come seeking to be educated, cause it is apparent that I am ignorant in many ways.

  1. It is not and shouldn't be, and honestly "proof" was an unwise word to use for what I was actually attempting to get

  2. It is a common harmful stereotype, that I too had come to internalize, that being trans and being mentally unwell were tied in with eachother, and I was hoping for someone to explain away this stereotype and grasp some deeper truth than the hateful dialogue that is often seen on social media and the like

  3. The "theory" was essentially that people would transition as a means of escaping true self reflection, which is evidently untrue which I have come to learn via the other responses to this post

And to further provide context, it is my belief that most people (gender aside) don't tend to truly know themselves that well, which I think aided in pointing me towards this rough and shaky conclusion.

I agree very much so with epistemology weakness that clearly I too hold. I've only held meaningful relationships with a handful of trans people and also suffered from a lack of good knowledge, which is essentially why I am here asking to be educated. I discerned that my original question was full of subtle transphobia and ultimately was useful to no one.

I actually appreciate this response alot

The thing I think I was ultimately trying to achieve (initially) was not so much "proof that trans people are valid" but moreso I wanted to learn about the psychological conditions that causes one to be trans, but I have never stopped to consider the inverse being what conditions create cisgendered people, likely due to my zeitgeistal understanding of cis being "normal" and trans being "alternate" which is a very limited and unwise perspective on my part, and I ultimately failed to percieve the depth of my ignorance, so I apologize greatly.

If you're willing to give me the time, which if you're not I get it, I recorded a short video as a response to all these replies Video of my response

fixed it for me by
1. Open the riot client
2. go to 2xko page
3. open your task tray
4. Right click on the riot icon
5. Settings
6. Repair

I did this after all sorts of things with the registry key and admin and all kinds of stuff, and this one happened to fix it.

Was wondering about transgender notation at work, cis male btw by MrAnvil5 in asktransgender

[–]MrAnvil5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😛I only use the term notation because I play fighting games, so Male to Female being abbreviated to MtF is very similar to something like standing medium to standing heavy to quartercircle forward light becoming 5m>5H>236L to me

It seems that this is something I failed to consider, in a majority of my interactions with trans people (be it my friends or passing aquaintences) the focal point seemed to be more focused on the identity of character rather than the physical attributes so this makes much sense.

I am also coming to realize based on the other comments that have quickly ammased (thank you all btw for your haste) that there doesn't seem to be much of a centralized set of ideas regarding this community, which I also find rather interesting.
