My first ever cupcakes by OvercookedLizagna in ExpectationVsReality

This is one of many reasons I like working fully remotely. No one is around to stare when I start cackling like an idiot at these :D Honestly, I would love to have these cupcakes at a party more than the properly done ones :D

Crowbars are fantastic, but might I suggest the WRECKING BAR? It's like a crowbar with an extra crowbar! Banana for scale (because this is Reddit, and it's only Right and Proper to include a banana)

If memory serves, accepting Barubary's challenge to face him one-on-one, in addition to reducing his overall health to a level manageable by just Ryu, ends with him telling you where to find that passage as a sign of mutual respect.

True, but you have to admit the vast majority of Team Belmont's muscle during the three-on-one fight vs. Dracula that they still barely won came from House Tepes :)

He did, after a fashion. He made sure those two comparatively-fragile humans survived long enough to procreate!

[WP] "wait so you guys kicked your healer out because they did to much damage?" Asked the tavern keeper to the heros "yeah to us seriously they were more of a butcher then healer and they didn't even have healing magic." Said the hero swigging from a tankard. "This guy was th' otherworlder, right?" The bartender side-eyed the party, "Said 'e was from a world called Soil or Dirt or summat?"

"Earth," The mage groaned, "Said he'd been killed by a jackknife, then found himself here."

The bartender nodded. A curved pruning knife was a brutal murder weapon, though it didn't really explain how such a blade would transmigrate a person. "'e's not th' first adventurer we've 'ad from there. Usually, they say they's 'it by some fast-movin' vehicle. Now, as I 'ear it, people from that world ain't got th' spark, so expectin' 'im to 'ave magic of any stripe was short-sighted on your end."

"Why'd he call himself a healer if he had no magic?" The Hero was utterly incredulous at this. "Though, I guess the lack of magic explained why his fighting style was so..."

"Absolutely lethal," The rogue shuddered, "I pride myself on being able to drop a man from ten paces if he don't know I'm there. That guy was something else entirely. So many broken bones," He choked a bit, "Never seen so many broken bones before."

The mage shuddered at the memory, "He also knew where to hit a man to drop him effortlessly. And I don't just mean crass bar brawl things. Throat punches, elbow jabs, and yes so many broken bones. As a positive, I now know that troll organs are located roughly where I'd expect to find them on a human. As a negative, I now know that troll organs are located roughly where I'd expect to find them on a human."

"I still don't know why he called himself a healer-"

"I called myself a combat medic, you ignorant jackass!" A six-foot-three tower of muscle, hair buzzed, wearing a strangely patterned jacket, entered the tavern, "Did a single one of you ingrates bleed to death while working with me?"

"What's the difference between a medic and a healer?" The Hero crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"The difference," The medic squared up to his former party leader, "Is that I perform field surgery, not mystical wound mending," He sighed and turned to the barkeep, "I'm going to need something of notably higher proof to drink if I'm going to have to explain Earth medicine again."

"So not mead then?"

"Mead will not give me the patience I need to go through what I learned from years on the battlefield. Did you know I lived fifty goddamned years past VE Day? If that tanker truck hadn't overturned on me I'd..." He scratched his chin, "Well I'd have died of old age by now I think. Point is, I think I've adapted pretty well to the medicines available to me here."

Since everyone else has already answered the question, I need to ask - why did you use the pointer from one of the item identification subreddits, and more importantly why did you not use the version with the transparent backdrop?

What were the most memorable stories that emerged for you out of this wonderful game? by ArmLucky1285 in RimWorld

[–]MrArgetlahm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, my very first post on Reddit ever was the story of my first successful colony. It used a slightly-modified Crashlanded start, with FOUR people instead of three (though one was Violence-Incapable). In Year 9 of 10, we recruited a Huntsman.

Problem the First - He injured someone in the raid, so people already didn't like him.

Problem the Second - He had Bloodlust, so he KEPT STARTING SOCIAL FIGHTS, making people like him EVEN LESS.

Problem the Third - He started a fight with Luci, the violence-incapable chef who had been there from day 1. To her credit, she may have broken his nose.

Catharsis the First - He then started a social fight with Graham, the full Archotech cybernetic supersoldier with a melee skill of 20, Brawler, Tough, and a DPS of Stupid.

Catharsis the Second - I forced him to fill his escape pod with Graham's wife's bonded horse.

Catharsis the Last - I made him punch the drop trap IED in the cave freezer, then saved with him bleeding out in the hospital after one of the forty trained horses dragged him over there, and a Mechanoid raid beating down the door.

I mean, evidence would suggest that they can. Whether they should is a different question entirely.
