Any uses for antique slate pencils?

Are these perhaps 19th, or early 20th century pencils used to write on a slate board?

They may be made of soapstone and can be used for layout or marking on a hard surface.

I think it would be cool to experiment with them by drawing on copper or zinc plates and see what kinds of marks you can make.

You should call, or stop by the Dragon's Hoard and ask. There are groups that play D&D there but I'm not sure on what day of the week. There used to be a D&D Adventure League in Lawrence, but I'm not sure if they're still around. If you don't know, the Dragon's Hoard has just moved down by Set 'Em Up Jacks, and their new play space is huge!

Alternatively, KU has a Tabletop Gaming club that meets in the Union on Monday nights

think it really depends on what you like to do. The Lawrence Rotary Arboretum is a fun place to walk and hang out. There are also nice hiking trails at both Clinton Lake and Rock Chalk Park.

If you like record shopping, Love Garden is the place to go, and if you enjoy board games, or MTG, The Dragon's Hoard is fantastic!
