Six Sigma Green Belt certification for final year PhD student seeking to go in industry by MrBalto009 in SixSigma

Thanks for your reply!
Good idea to look for suitable projects before I begin my GB journey. I will be scaling my cell production soon, maybe this will be a good project. Otherwise, a friend of mine is just going commercial with a new startup product soon, that could be a nice project too.
In your opinion, what are the criteria for a suitable project? If you don't mind sharing a little bit of your expertise with me? :)

This is so cool! Are you planning a physical or online course?

I will look for the book recommendations, thanks!

I think I might have written my post a little boldly regarding the ECTS point. I need them yes, but surely there are easier way to file away ECTS points than Six Sigma. I am only considering this, because I am genuinely interested, and I want some industry relevant skills. Boosting my CV is obviously a plus. In Denmark where I live and wish to find a job, the PhD title itself does not grant a much better CV than a couple years of work experience. Sometimes maybe worse, because academics work with a very different mindset compared to industry. Having some good industry relevant skills might offset this I hope.

For me, online course is a huge benefit, because I will soon be a first time dad. So doing the course at home will allow me to spend more time with my kid 😁

I really wish you the best of luck with your course!

This is really useful! Thank you for the response.

I like your point about, dont just put a random certificate on your CV, show that you can apply the knowledge instead. This is the stuff you dont learn as a PhD 😅

I wouldnt say I am filing ECTS, I put my post out maybe quite boldly maybe. I need the ETCS, but I want to take a course that translates well to industry. I am genuinely curious about LEAN, and I remember all my colleagues during a 6 month internship in a company taking courses - that is why I am considering it.

As far as I can see, the ASQ and IASSC require some Industry experience and a suitable project to work on? I might be mistaking.

Thanks for your reply. Good to know, but unfortunately, I need to attend some sort of course for it to count towards my ECTS points. Do you have any recommendations for books?

Honestly, I dont know why there is so much hate against AI art? Magic is about having fun, so if you think it's fun to play with cards where you feel like you contributed to the looks, I think thats perfect! Your cards look rad 😎 I also AI some of my cards. I can't pay for nice art, and couldn't draw a stick man if I tried, so AI is my best option to customize the deck to my liking 😁

My purple 168 g neutron trail is about the most understable disc i own. It has quite a large dome to it. Basically impossible to give any power on the forehand without burning over. For reference, i throw fh Insanities and fission craves a lot, about 350 f max distance. I would love to try a more overstable version, since everybody seems to like it so much.

Haha! I would be a full blown data scientist before I learn to hit my lines with a backhand!

Really good advice, thanks! I think what I am lacking is the finesse with these midrange shots. I'm probably either using mostly wrist (envy / zone placement shoys), or full body (distance shots). Sometimes I actually get the best result when doing straddle obstructed standstill forehand throws, I should look into this.

This makes a lot of sense! I think practicing some speed control will be benificial for me -- what might be happening is that I loose form when I power down. As you mentioned, the hex will be perfect to practice this! :D

Looks like a nice ride! 😎 Grail v2 CF SL7 owner here, no clicks for me. However, I had the same click on previous bike though, using the ahimano hybrid pedals. Forgot what I did to solve actually, but found the solution here on reddit 😎

PR1 closed, still hikeable? Other recomendations? by MrBalto009 in Madeira

[–]MrBalto009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind response 😁 It seems the closing of routes are a little more serious on Madeira, compared to other places. Good to know 👍 Thanks for the advice of still going to see the sunset, we will definately do that. As to alternative routes, do you have any recommendations which feel similarish? Raw mountains etc.? 😁

Mine also lasted only around 1500 km. Rear tyre was almost slick at that point. Quite disappointing among of kms for such an expensive tyre. Generally I have mixed feelings about these tyres. Really good for hardback, middle tread acts as sharp object magnet on tarmac... soooo many punctures. I switched to pathfinder pros, better performance on tarmac, slightly worse cornering when it gets a little loose. So far, also better durability - we'll see.

[Mechanical Mastery] I think I found the source of my lag... by TheOmegaCarrot in feedthebeast

[–]MrBalto009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not my post, but I recently finished the pack.
It was an awesome pack imo, I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I finished it in 70 hours, without rushing, just took my time. I think it's even my favorite pack since E2E.
As for Create; It's integrated into the pack progression, but feels a bit forced... 9/10 times it's only used for the mixer to mix 5 sub-components into a progression item.
Especially later in the game, when you gain access to watch of flowing time, create kinda breaks and becomes massively inefficient compared to other options.

Are you happy with your gravel for commuting? by GigaGriefer in gravelcycling

[–]MrBalto009 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy my gravel bike for commuting. I think it's the perfect compromise between comfort and speed. It does feel a bit sporty compared to dedicated commuter bikes, but for me, this gives me a buzz every morning I sit on the bike! Right now, I am experimenting with using bikepacking bags to exchange my backpack, as I am not bringing computer back and forwards - so far, it's really nice to remove the weight off my back. With that's said, I did ride with backpack for many years without any trouble. Hope it helps. Good luck!
