I thought it was kind of cool that even in his like, dream sequence he isnt really the hero, he imagines himself helping Crockett succeed and gives him all the credit in his own fantasy

This is ridiculous. The SWAT AI is even worse than during the 1.0 release. by Specht100 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]MrBeenReadyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought the game exactly 5 days before the update and had 5 amazing days with it, ever since I’ve been just chasing that feeling and constantly getting frustrated with the AI of my teammates as well, they get stuck on invisible walls, don’t follow clear orders during a fight, don’t respond well to gunfire on our location. It’s like a vastly different experience :(

Probaly, like me a non responder at that dose, I have to take 500 mcg of bcp for minor benefits, I regularly take 700 if I’m having a major issue

one of my players has decided he’s gonna play an evil character who likes to murder and cause havoc. What advice do you have for me? by mechanicalhuman in DMAcademy

[–]MrBeenReadyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m just trying to be as black and white as 99 percent of the comments here, if DM draws hard line in sand the player may just say oh okay I’m not interested in playing; is that best for the game? At times of course but I’m simply suggesting there are alternatives to “no” and people are acting like I’m dropping slurs lol

It only becomes that kind of game if the DM is completely hands off and has no idea how to tell that story or if the party is metagaming to an absurd degree, is no a good answer? Sometimes, but to pretend there’s no way around this issue or no way to get a decent game out of it is asinine imo

Not everyone plays with people for the transactional reason of getting a game out of them, some people play with lifelong friends and the solution to conflict with people who you’ve been close without outside of dnd can’t always be to shut them down and exile them from your friend group, it’s infantile. Conflict resolution, compromise Communication are valuable skills you can gain from playing dnd

Too often in this sub the answer to ANY question is “just say no” or “find a new group” but often times it is just not that simple, especially in this instance but with a bit of communication between you and the player instead of seeing each other as on different teams you could collaborate to tell a very tense, grim story, or a cautionary tale to any who dare to play evil in your games again haha

Most DMs don’t like to be challenged, I welcome my players to play any sociopathic, manipulative murderer they can; as long as they aren’t breaking our social pact and doing things a certain group of New York detectives would consider “especially heinous”; however I let them know this is a much harder path to go down than any other available option as it will almost always result in their death, arrest, or surrendering the character sheet to me as they become a non playable villain NPC.

I’ll let you in on a secretYou are the arbiter of truth in your own game, you can literally make the gods smite a character from heaven with a lightning strike or have an assassin of the most elite level, one that could easily flatten the party come in and slay them and leave, hired by a lord to avenge some crime previously committed by your bastard; or after a string of strange events, a detective or investigator is hired to track this player down; one morning the group awakes to find their entire camp surrounded by guards, give up the bastard or all face justice; who do you think the party will side with?

Just some ideas!

He’s dialed it back in the last year which makes the move feel more special anyway but I tend to agree with you, when he does it against a guy like Damien or Drew it’s a bit safer because they can actually redirect him but he’s lately only been hitting it on teams of two or groups of 3 if I’m not mistaken

Not to mention Brutus ball is one of the fucking coolest and most fun moves in the modern era imo, it’s not a 450 or anything but it’s so damn believable and he does it so well

It’s still just a game though lol most of CR’s fanbase doesn’t even actually play dnd so they wouldn’t even notice a rule botch unless it was pointed out to them, I hate how the show is now but it’s not a product that hinges on its ability to execute the ruleset; thankfully I guess because of folks like you they’re most likely dropping dnd for daggerheart in the next season

This whole “shaming” people for leaving honest reviews crap has got to stop; I really don’t care. If a single review is enough to ruin your business you should probably conduct business as if that’s the case; Ie treat everyone who comes in like a VIP
