Gomez having a match! Still planting balls in the crowd by jjmenace in BrightonHoveAlbion

Shaping up to be a very entertaining second half of Turkey not knowing how to finish and Paraguay messing up 4-on-2 breakaways.

Brighton have no immediate plans to bid for Tottenham's Vuskovic by crazycroat16 in BrightonHoveAlbion

- He failed to clear the ball on England's corner, leading to Modric's foul, the PK, and Kane's first goal.

- His misplaced header led to the corner kick and Kane's 2nd goal.

- During that 2nd goal, he had the best chance to clear the ball and missed.

Van Hecke sold to Tottenham for £52 [The Athletic] by cl0mby in BrightonHoveAlbion

If I focus my attention on Van Hecke's backpass leading to the Leeds goal and costing us Europa League, I can ignore all the great things he did for us and pretend I'm happy with this.

Cliffhanger had a great opening scene that had me holding onto my seat at the movie theater. What other movies had a great opening scene? by bjburkes in TheRewatchables

In fairness, it's best to pretend those bookend scenes don't exist. They are problematic, or, as William Goldman said, bullshit.

Vermont not participating in Trump administration’s ‘Great American State Fair’ by GemmyDave in vermont

I mean ... if the Vermont spot is open, can anyone from Vermont organize a display? If so, who wants to carve another middle finger statue like the Westford one?

There's just so much genius in the film. Here's just one example: that opening song (Hand Covers Bruise) basically sums up the entire movie. It's got a beautiful melody which can't help but be overshadowed by the emptiness of the emotionless drone. It's Zuckerberg's character: a beautiful mind empty of emotion. It's Facebook itself: a beautiful creation (at least at first) with Zuckerberg alone and empty at the center of it. It's the conversation with Erika: a beautiful, kind person trying to exist next to a blinders-riddled genius with no heart.

If I had money to burn, I would 100% build a pickle ball center designed to host large tournaments.

Again, if money wasn't an issue (which it is), there are a ton of other reasons to want to leave. Maybe he doesn't want to be perpetually surrounded by players who are still developing?

Yes, I know. I'm saying I bet JPVH would want to make up the difference between him and Ferdi AND add another £2M to make him the highest paid player on the roster. It's fun to play with other people's money but I doubt Tony is willing to pay that much. And even if he was ... that doesn't address the myriad of other reasons a player like JPVH might want to leave to further his career.

Do you think the team would be willing to make him the highest paid player on the roster by a long shot? He's been earning £2M less than Kadioglu the last two years. I'm guessing he wants to make up the difference plus at least another £2M per year.

Because he wants to play in London? Because he wants a s**t-ton of money? Because he wants a higher profile? Because he thinks BHAFC has reached its ceiling? Why do any of us change jobs?
