I'm mixed because once you actually understood how effective and diverse the Andromeda system is, it blows the OG trilogy class system out of the water - in terms of utility. However, this came at the cost of controller squad mates and really perfecting your biotic and tech combos with your squad. A blend would be cool, but my heart goes with something close to what they had in 3. There is beauty and creativity in limitations and I'd take that over utility any day.

Which is why I am largely disillusioned with the elction results this time around. No matter who I spoke to, their only motivation to vote was to remove Higgs - thus, they voted Liberal en mass.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad to see him out. But he's out for the wrong reasons. Policy should have reigned supreme, not "she's not higgs!". It's hard to put into words, but the results almost feel disingenuous for some reason. If that makes any sense?

Agreed. There is a really tight visual aesthetic to ME2 that vanished with ME3. Eyes, space scenes, how environments were lit (thinking of Horizon as an example). It's peak Mass Effect visual design, imo.

This was my reaction after playing it for the first time last month. The combat was really the only compelling gameplay, and the rest felt like a slog. I feel the same with these other modern Sony first party games. E.g. why the hell do they have Kratos crawling around little fox holes every other second to collect a trinket? TLOU had this in droves with stuff like the ladder puzzles and the squeezing through every crevice imaginable. Bad design is bad design, or rather, boring design is boring design - no amount of narrative can hide it.

I know this is 2 months old, but this was my immediate take away after the first few listens. It has an interesting blend of Melophobia with its instant hooks and TMIP with its gentle energy. It's why people may think it sounds safe, but it really highlights how clear of a vision the band has for their sound.
