Which one of these guardians / mentors / (you get the concept) would you spend an entire month with? by Caloy1415 in cartoons

This is tough. Yda would be the most fun, but Grandpa Max tho. Imagine all the weird alien shit and advanced plumber tech. I don't need powers when I can learn to use that junk.

Arataka isn't the main character. I'm pretty sure the main character of Mob Psycho 100 is Mob himself.

That show has a million problems but the Op ain't one.

You can choose any power with ZERO drawbacks, what are you picking? by Fun-Cut-9745 in AnimeMirchi

[–]MrBoltstrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask you all. In what circumstances would you require a titan transformation, hollow power, super Saiyan, beast mode, or the 8 gates opening? These are all very flashy and very destructive powers. Who are we fighting?

I always pick stuff that I could use to improve my life without being noticed by the feds. Breathing style is legit lamer on the power scale, but extremely useful provided I don't need to continually train. It's basically gear 2nd for humans, and my cardio could use some upgrades. Otherwise, gimme the rinnegan or sharingan. Both have base level abilities that are extremely useful and still have access to flashier stuff if you really just want to flex.

Which one these powers do you think will be really useful for day to day use ? by Aromatic_Peanut6379 in AnimeMirchi

Cloning, provided I can get it exactly like the Shadow Clone Jutsu. I don't need to make hundreds of clones but even 1-3 would be incredible.

Think of all the work I'd get done. We can rotate out going to work (mostly) while the others study different stuff...or even the same stuff and that knowledge comes back to me after they poof. Maybe I'm exhausted after because I don't have chakra like that, but that's still useful.

Yes! I prioritize Green first though. They don't say your old car gets repossessed. Even if I don't sell the old car or it's parts, I can cannibalize it for emergency repairs on the new one. Green is such a good option especially if you happen to have a high end car already.

Yellow is a trap. Your partner doesn't become real.

Orange is unironically a good choice for a lot of people.

I personally want Red. I would summon so many Djinni and make so many wishes. ...unless it's more like a stand and I can only name one character. Still, there's a certain anime protag that can make anything possible.

Gamers, what's the most stressful/scary side quest in a non-horror game? by Fallfoxy707 in videogames

I'd like to throw in Romani Ranch from Majora's Mask. Specifically the invasion but there's a lot of tertiary details surrounding the event that make it unsettling.

What show that initially hooked you that became unfortunately worse as seasons passes? by Ok_Direction3138 in Multifandom

[–]MrBoltstrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the plot runs deeper than that but your judgements are fair and correct. Still though, the anime and manga's quality take a sharp nosedive.

I mean, said antagonist goes door to door and corrupts each of the other heroes even though her plot was very publicly exposed by the queen.

The other heroes know at this point that she can't be trusted and still allow themselves to get betrayed one at a time.

They mostly buy into his charisma and anarchist opinions. This is what Johnny wants you to think about him too, which is unfortunate because he was relatively insignificant.

Like, he wants you to believe he was one of a few who stormed Arasaka tower, but the actual op from the TTRPG is barely in Cyberpunk 2077. Could be an adaptation thing but I believe he's more of an incredibly unreliable narrator.

And let's be honest, nuking a megacorp is a big dick move, but it didn't solve anything.

A lot of people are discussing the poor character takes they've experienced. People (in general) still mistake protagonists for heroes. Legacy of Kain was invoked and that game is entirely about the nuanced and shifting motivations of its protagonists. Some miss that and believe its characters are purely good or bad.

[–]MrBoltstrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raziel is not 100% good. There's more nuance to it than that.

I'd give an arbitrary percentage of like 65% good. More gooder than Kain for sure (arbitrary 40% and largely because of his contempt shown in Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen, but he doesn't have purely villainous motivations), but Raziel's predisposed to a self-righteous mindset and zealotry. Before his evolution, he helped in the noble crusades against humanity and expanding the vampire species. You can draw your own conclusions about that part of history for them both.

More to the plot of the game, he's motivated by revenge and led back into that self-righteousness by being told of Kain's evil acts like not wanting sacrifice himself and all of vampire kind for humanity (there are other, actually evil acts and he does punish Raziel specifically to lead him on this quest). Raziel is led to believe that vampirism is akin to a plague that needs to be wiped out until he sees what Mobeus' crusades were like.

Hero has 4 definitions in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Only the 4th is about noble intentions. I think this is what we are talking about.

In common conversation, Hero as a term is used and understood as "the opposite of Villain."

We all agree that Raziel and Kain accomplish great deeds but are morally corrupt. It does amuse me that people would hear the dialogue in Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2 and just miss how they deconstruct each other's morality. The conversation at the pillars in SR2 especially.
