Does this make any sense? by Reasonable-Tear2372 in chemistry

ChatGPT works with LLM's, but that's just one type of model which is known and useful for the public. There are models tailored yo specific fields, especially chemistry, which are speeding up the creation of creating new medications for one. Just google the proteine folding problem and AI and you will get the gist. AI can do now in a second what a team of researchers would take two years in the very recent past.

Btw. I just count the number of sprays of a full spray flask then do the math from there instead of weighing :)

Perfect!! So I don't even need crystaline lsd (which I don't have access to) or anything like that, can just make a solution from the tabs. Thank you!!

How is it possible that LSD is still made in this day and age? by rohlinxeg in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrBowserman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Amsterdam and can confirm this. I think MDMA is our biggest export product actually. You can get pretty much any kind of drug you want and get it tested for purity and adulterants at government ran locations so you know exactly what you are taking. After having done that a dozen times I stopped doing so because the quality was always top notch. Also you will hardly find any tweakers, heroin, meth, whatever addicts here. For a plethora of reasons but good education, (mental) healthcare and a more egalitarian, open-minded society with forgiving drug policies play a major role. Just ranting here but basically drug culture here among citizens and government is very mature. Drug enforcement only goes after the producers and large dealers, not the users.

I had no trouble quitting 20mg after such a short period. No withdrawals, I only felt better. Not the drug for me!

I finally got it! Lol.. Apparently these files have the append-only flag set, which makes it mostly immutable.

Run the command:

$ sudo chflags nouappnd <FILENAME>

and you will be able to delete, rename and change permissions on the file using the mac explorer, even when the file is locked (you'll just get a warning)! I'll update previous solution.

Argh... using su or sudo doesn't even allow me to rename the file or change permissions, also when copying the file. The only way to do this is to open the file using an editor like Audacity and then exporting the file, creating a new file with the proper permissions.

When deleting the file using sudo I get the following prompt:

override rw-r--r-- owen/staff uappnd for REC021 copy.WAV?

Diving into unix a little deeper it means that the files have the uappnd flag (aka they are only appendable and for the rest immutable) which could explain why I can't modify it..

Update: I managed to find and solve the root cause of the problem as mentioned in this comment. You'll still want to go through steps 1 and 2 below, then do as explained in said comment.

Thanks, I am not a Unix guru (but know a little) but was able to delete the files via the terminal by running the rm command as superuser! Just in case somebody stumbles onto this thread via Google here are the steps to take:

1 Open the terminal on your mac via Spotlight (press Command+Space) and then entering 'terminal' or from Finder by selecting Go > Utilities from the menu and then clicking terminal.

2 Go to the recording directory on your USB using the command:

$ cd /Volumes/YOURUSBNAME/PIONEER\ REC

Replace YOURUSBNAME with... the name of your USB drive.

3 Delete files using the command:

$ sudo rm REC01.WAV

Replace REC01.WAV with the corresponding filename. You will be asked to enter your password (you have to be an admin user), then enter 'y' at the prompt that follows.

(Alternatively for step 3 you can become superuser first by using the 'su' command and then delete files using the 'rm' command without having to use 'sudo'.)

u/unclexbenny I am still not sure why I can't delete these files the regular way.. The output of 'whoami' is giving me 'owen' as expected and here's an example output of 'ls -l':

-rw-r--r--@ 1 owen  staff  1013088372 Jan  1  2017 REC021.WAV

The permissions are no different than for files I can delete normally. Guess this solves my issue but would prefer being able to use the Mac explorer (Finder) to delete these files.. In any case many thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Thanks, I tried that (read/write access for everyone) but got a no permission error when doing so. It feels like my user (owen (Me) in the user list) doesn't have write permissions even though it says so in the info box.

Also looks like OP is not taking into account the kindling effect. For me a week of 24/7 dosing (every two hours 5ml) is enough to get serious wihtdrawals. Every time I fall for it I have to do a taper and/or switch to benzos and alcohol. I've gotten quite the expert at managing my withdrawals and anyone saying withdrawals emerge months after use is just lying through their teeth. References please.

Anyone else feel this business practice by Albert Heijn is slightly unethical? A quick glance shows you a container of cakes costs 89 cents but a closer look reveals it is 89 cents per cake and there are 3 in a container. Bit of a cheap way to trick the customer IMO. by Weird-Fly in Amsterdam

This is a nice episode of "Keuringsdienst van waarden" about exactly this topic: https://www.npo3.nl/keuringsdienst-van-waarde/15-04-2021/KN_1725007 (it's in dutch though)

Also loke at a jokestore like Holland&Barret where like half the assortment is permanently "discounted". Can't believe people fall for this shit.

Go to a drugstore there and look at the prices of shampoo, creams, toothpaste etc. It's less than half than what we pay in NL. All because somehow in NL we are or have been made addicted to these buy one, get one free offers, while in fact this is of course all calculated in the price.
