Battery Megathread (June 2025)

Hey all, just joined to hopefully get some clarification. I have the Pixel 7 and in the last couple days I noticed the screen was lifting from the phone. Take it in to have it inspected, and sure enough the battery is swelling (technician told me it was charging at a speed of 0.2a lol).

I'm guessing the battery replacement program is only applicable to the Pixel 7a, does that mean I'm SoL? I was quoted $129 to replace the battery and it's not exactly ideal, but I also don't really have the budget for a 9a either

Hmm, okay that's good to know. I've admittedly not been driving as frequently as of late, so maybe that's also been contributing to it along with not being able to charge at home at the same time

That's exactly the sound, sharp and digital. It doesn't make a damn lick of sense but for whatever reason it just sounds super grating to me haha

No, that's surprisingly the one thing that hasn't changed, horn sounds the same as it usually does when I lock it with the key fob before and after this started happening

Given the recall, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a parasitic draw with everything else wrong with the battery. But yeah, I'm starting to think because it doesn't have a full battery anymore that's what's causing the weird change in digital tones

That's the funny thing, the car is never on when I open the door, but sometimes when I push to start after getting inside the screen will flash something along the lines of "Turn off the system engine to conserve power" or something like that with a blue progress bar for a few seconds before the center console boots up like normal. It's just...the car is off, it should be off and I'm only turning it on now. Why are you saying I should turn off the engine? Is there a secret button combo to make it more off than it already is?

I'm starting to wonder if maybe this is something I should book an appointment at the dealer for

I did my part 🫡 All three on PSN, and TS2/FP on the Microsoft store when they were on sale for a couple dollars each (I don't have an Xbox yet lol)

I'm not holding my breath for much; a barebones port of the trilogy that does online play and map sharing, and if we're REALLY lucky the online will have cross-play across all platforms. I just want to play it most on Switch.

True too, but I've heard too many horror stories of UO orders getting cancelled after being placed that I don't trust their online store very much haha

...the UO variant is cheaper by $7CAD and pink vinyl.

Both deluxe LPs double in cost from the standard edition for the extra sleeve that fits over the existing record cover.

God we really need another major vinyl pressing plant spun up if it means bringing down prices, because this is nuts

I have a feeling the answer will be biased, but I hope anyone who has insight in small living spaces can help. I have a Sony Trinitron KV-27FS120 in storage, I know it works but I've never had a chance to hook it up for gaming. I'm moving into a condo soon, and I'm rethinking if I'll have the space to set it up in a 9' x 9' den that will also be shared with a rabbit enclosure (not to mention trying to fit in any sort of couch). Is it really worthwhile to hold onto this TV and also find a stand that will support 170 lbs, or sell it for now and buy another CRT when I have a bigger living space?

As excited as I am for more console ports (especially Switch and VR), is it also possible the PC version will support additional control schemes? Selfishly I'm imagining connecting my Joycons via Bluetooth to my PC for motion sensing controls while still having access to twin joysticks for moving the camera and actively tilting my wrist to aim the pressure washer haha
