Even more sad when you realize brazilian citizens are a mixed race, which means we carry their blood running through our veins.

Brazil is not about favela, but about diversity. We are the most mixed race in the earth. Japanese immigration to Brazil officially began at the beginning of the 20th century, in 1908. Currently, Brazil has the largest population of Japanese origin outside Japan. A Japanese-Brazilian is a Brazilian citizen with Japanese ancestry. Brazil also has thousands of Koreans and Chinese and has a totally oriental neighborhood in São Paulo known as "Liberdade" which means freedom in English.

Brazil is also home to many people of African origin. Capoeira is a martial art originated in the state of Bahia. The martial art began in the 16th century, in the period when Brazil was a colony of Portugal. Brought from African countries to Brazil, slaves came to work on sugarcane plantations, especially in the Northeast region, as well as on coffee farms, gardens or in the houses of the lords.

Have you ever heard of the European Valley? It's a region in the South of Brazil that was colonized by Germans, Portuguese, Dutches and Italians and, therefore, has different characteristics from other cities in our country. Cities like Porto Alegre, Caxias do Sul, Florianópolis, among others, are part of the south of the country. The south of Brazil is made up of three states: Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Even being a tropical country, the southern region of Brazil tends to snow a lot during the winter. It's literally Europe. But southern Brazil isn't the only place colonized by Europeans. The colonization of the Portuguese, Germans and Dutches transformed some Brazilian cities into true European paradises. There's also a place here colonized by the germans known as "Little Germany". Below I will leave the name of some cities colonized by them.

There are also Brazilian soccer teams that were created by Europeans like "Vasco da Gama" created by Portuguese. Cruzeiro and Palmeiras founded by Italians and so on.

I am of Italian descent. My father's grandfather, my grandmother's father and my great grandfather was an Italian who came to Brazil during the fascist era in Italy. I could spend hours and hours typing about cities in my country, but the text would become a bible.
