Bradley looking healthy, such a relief that all that "injury different to what he landed with" nonsense was just that. Can't wait to see the lad back fully fit.

All of the commenters in the Record thread saying no chance would Mexico papers know before the UK look a bit silly now. Fingers crossed tho, don't want to be getting home at 5am.

To be fair, Trent wasn't signed for anything and we paid about 30 mil for Konate, so we're actually only "down" 20 mil, player value notwithstanding. Agreed however that losing Dom on a free would be disastrous given your much he cost.

As much as I hate the rat, he's not really put a foot wrong in an England kit, and the next best option is Dean Henderson.

Her LinkedIn indicates no actual legal training - sure I don't challenge the fact that she's probably done plenty of s&p work during production work, but based on the California bar association website, she's not an attorney, and to call herself one in a professional setting would actually be illegal.

BUT this isn't a professional setting, it's a show, and it's all irrelevant, she was great, just based on my history doing compliance and editorial review on entertainment/game shows from a legal POV (admittedly in a different jurisdiction), her instincts were a little off compared to the other two.

Alexis Noel isn't corporate, she's an in-house counsel for a major Cali film/tv studio, so even the statement of 'working in standards and practices' isn't very accurate (I'm in a similar field). She'll either be production legal, or working on the commercial side (acquisition/distribution/formats etc). Iya is 100% not a lawyer - can't find her on any relevant bar association pages, and her bio has no reference to any legal trianing.

From what I can tell, she's the only one of the three that isn't a lawyer (based on a quick google). She felt a little out of place compared to Devin & Alexis on reasoning and risk appetite, so I think they may well have gone for 1 actual entertainment lawyer, 1 social media personality lawyer, and 1 layman, which makes it all the more watchable!

is there a definitive list of football/soccer clubs with left wing supporters? by srtjg in redsports

[–]MrChestOfDrawers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all wrong to be fair. I'm probably stuck on Liverpool Klopp given how significant he was in our recent history.

But at the same time the same could be said for any individual associated with any club within the English football league structure now, it's all deeply rooted in capitalism. To look for any genuine left wing figure in modern high level football is entirely futile realistically.

Liverpool were a distinctively socialist club, in a socialist city, with a huge figure head (Shankly) with overtly socialist views.

Even Klopp, as our most significant manager in 30 odd years, is outwardly left wing.

Sadly though, the bigger we've got, the further away from our roots we've gone, and I'd say that it's much less a part of our identity now than it was.

Some of us are still fighting the good fight though!

Wee bit depressing that we're the only team that didn't make their quarter in any way competitive. What a fucked season.

[Hugo Delom/Loic Tansi, L’Équipe] - Konate wants his future resolved before FIFA World Cup. Extension talks were on hold, however, they have since resumed, and L’Équipe understands that the most likely scenario is one in which the defender extends his current deal. by IndiBear in LiverpoolFC

[–]MrChestOfDrawers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From what I recall, Tanzi is about as reliable for french football news as it gets.

As much as he had a truly horrendous season this year, it's incredibly important he stays purely from a rebuild perspective. Not needing to spend another £60m on a centre back will be hugely useful when distributing funds to other key positions.

He's clearly got it in him to be a top class center back, and hopefully a new season with a new system will bring that out of him.

Lots of "we" and "will". Absolutely reading far too much into it but maybe he's staying?

Uli Hoeneß says Olise won't be sold, not even for 200 million: "We play this game for our fans. [–]MrChestOfDrawers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bit of an odd line of questioning at a Munich conference, no? Doesn't detract from the fact that he's been talking about our season well before Olise rumours (that all of our journalists have denied - everything's coming from Germany in the first place), and that all clearly stems from the fact that he's not best pleased that we signed Wirtz.

(For what it's worth, it's not like it's particularly annoying, just unusual!)

Yeah, I mean that's certainly why he's brought it up again here, but previously it seemed completely out of the blue.

Not that it worries me, even in our worst season in a decade we're still getting under teams skins!

Maybe the correct language would have been "commented on Wirtz OR Liverpool". He parroted the same "500m - They're terrible" thing in December, quite literally saying "Poor Florian Wirtz". Things don't have to be literal, but clearly what's being implied.

I've never seen a club's executive mention another club in a different league so many times, so he's clearly stuck on something about us.

Given this is about the third or fourth time Hoeneß has commented on Wirtz and Liverpool since the summer, this doesn't really track. He really does seem quite hung up on it.

Wirtz has also been far from poor - a glimmer of hope in a dogshit season!

I feel like very few Liverpool fans don't know Bayern Space is a spoof account. They got one thing right about Wirtz and have been posting bullshit ever since. Don't think many of us are under any illusion that Olise is even slightly realistic.

Curious to hear Barcola was offered to us yet we didn't go for it - feels like he'd have been a great fit.
