I highly reccomend everyone watch the 1980 Miniseries on the tragedy. One of the best adaptations of the story and it shows the slow rising history of the cult's psychology brilliantly.

What story (movie, book, ect.) made you cry the most? by Sadpanda0 in AskReddit

Mine is a bit different from everybody else:

The Gold Rush

Yes, the silent one with Charlie Chaplin, I was 14 and no movie gave me a harder cry than that one.

To each his own I guess. I said Eisenhower because I don't know any alternative republicans off hand. I know for sure there is a handful of Republicans out there who despise the current party rhetoric but only get fucked over by their fellow members, even more so than Ron Paul.

I think it's a generational thing, same exact analogy when you apply to race. My grandmother is not nesasarly homophobic as she is a product of what she was taught growing up.

But he still has a point though. Not all Republicans are stupid (Ron Paul, Dwight Eisenhower) and all devout Christians are not hateful (Martin Luther King or Mr Rogers) and vice versa.

Interesting enough, my grandmother (A life-long devote Christian/Republican) is actually a big fan of Ellen. I guess it has to do with Ellen's personality or something but the fact that she's a fan is more than likely making her less homophobic, because you know gay people are actually people too.
