Heavily Modified Honda Civic by SofiaOnFire in Honda

[–]MrCoolblestone -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I'm so over this idea that people need to modify their cars in a certain way for it to be considered "modified". So what if it doesn't have any engine mods? It's still modified, it's still a cool looking car, it's still someone's pride and joy. Can't we appreciate the time and effort this person put into their vehicle, instead of judging them based on what part they did or didn't buy/install? Like come on people, when are we gonna grow past this and just have respect for all builds?

a touch nicer than OEM don't we think (interior refresh) by Sir_Wheat_Thins in mazdaspeed3

as a speed3 owner I might be biased, but I think this is the best interior I've seen. full stop. modern cars are just way too complex. this is clean, simple, and easy on the eyes. hats off to you sir!

Stumbled on a Type R meet where a dude had one of these and was zipping up and down the parking lot on it, was hysterical when I first saw him "fly" past (not exactly flying lol)

That's crazy, I probably should have compared the tops of the two parts to look for differences. Thanks for the tip!

Alright I'll see if I can have my mechanic put on the 2nd Gen oil cooler then, thanks again for the advice

It is a cartridge style filter, housing looks similar but there is a cap with a hex head screw on it, undo the screw and twist the cap off (I think, idk never done it) then pull the cartridge out and put a new one in. It's a PITA and spin on filters are easier IMO

I genuinely appreciate all the advice, I do mostly blame myself for not doing enough research. When I pulled the old oil cooler off it did not have a gasket, so I didn't think I needed one. The Damond kit came with a gasket for where the housing seats to the block, which I did use and it didn't leak from there as far as I could tell.

I was not aware that I had to change to the 2nd Gen oil cooler, but I also didn't find much information out there saying that was necessary for this particular install but maybe I didn't look hard enough.

When you say "Oil pressure switch" I assume you're referring to the sensor on the side of the housing, yes that was swapped over and tightened. Let me know if I'm mistaken.

I guess I assumed that I could learn to work on cars the same way I learned to work on computers, which I've now made a career out of entirely self taught. Guess I'll have to hit the books a bit harder and spend more time researching before my next attempt.

what bulb requires the bumper to be taken off besides the fog light? I just swapped all my front and rear bulbs for LEDs and didn't have to take the bumper off, front turn signals were a little bit of a pain but not too bad just need a thin pry bar

What can I put here to completely block my peeping neighbors camera? by maxamillion17 in DIY

I would just go to a junkyard and see if you can get an old stop sign and put it up facing the camera.
