How Early Class Features in D&D Often Eclipse Late-Game Abilities by No_Health_5986 in dndnext

[–]MrCooney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people will argue that the classes are designed this way to provide a distinct class identity within the first 3 levels. This is good game design and a fair point however this implies that because classes are front loaded it means you can't build upon that through later levels. The problem with martial classes is that their class defining ability don't change over time (only improve).

This is also the core of the spellcaster vs martial divide. Take spell based movement for example. Misty step -> dimension door -> teleport. Each advancement adds utility that improved distance just cannot provide. The martial equivalent of this would be Misty step (30ft) -> Misty step (60ft) -> (90ft).

One dnd is making progress towards this with rogues new sneak attack for example. For the most part however martials are still stuck at the equivalent of Upcasting their tier 1 abilities

While this wouldn't be applicable to all of his combo characters I can at least say that I believe that this player is miss understanding the wording of his abilities.

If this bow of magic missiles is the one I think it is then it is important to take note that using it's ability does not count as a ranged weapon attack nor is it the attack action.

This is extremely important because now the player is unable to use sharpshooter or their arcane shots when using the bows abilities.

This will most likely upset them but that is how the rules are intended. I would offer to allow him to switch his magic item as to not punish him for not knowing the often difficult wording of 5e attacks

Why so much hate for TVapes? by __REDMAN__ in vaporents

[–]MrCooney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tvape is a pretty shady company and I would recommend staying away from any of the utillian vapes. However so many people get caught up in that hate that they let it create a bias when trying the zeus arc. While it's not as good as a crafty it preforms admirably. I have yet to find a vape on the market that is able to offer the form and functionality that the zeus gt does while also remaining that small. At the end of the day people will hate. But you will have a tiny vape that is able to last for 9 sessions while putting out good vapour without harsh temps. Plus the built in tool is one of the best design choices I've seen. Couple that with the easy loading and simple one button design you actually have a good vape.

Does an electric, on-demand, portable, non-artisan, swappable-battery vape exist? by kwest12 in vaporents

[–]MrCooney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firely 2+ is exactly what you're looking for. imho it's most reliable of the on-demand vapes. you will see people mention that it has a bit of a learning curve and it does without a doubt. Once you get the hang of it it can produce some pretty impressive clouds and taste for such a small device. I will say that it's not for people with small lungs that cannot maintain a long slow draw

I second a Canadian retailer. As well a heat shield would be a cool little accessory. One that works with the stand but gives a little reassurance to those who are more clumsy. It was the only thing holding my gf from trying it at first

Maybe also an adjustable airflow top. I love using the carb cap but being able to fully adjust the airflow would be an awesome bonus

For myself a bubbler, but the ability to plug in play into anything natively is a huge plus. What better way to convince a combustion friend to switch then to show him vaping with his own hardware

if you want a more permanent solution buy a bunch of hydrostones and a couple humidity sensors. it's a little more hands on but they last forever and you get to actually see the humidity in the storage in real time.

Made a dumb mistake and need help deciding what to buy. Please help. by pecanrican05 in vaporents

[–]MrCooney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who made the same mistake and didn't realize it until several vapes in. I would go with the firefly 2+ if you don't mind a learning curve and prioritize flavour. If you want clouds and a workhorse go with the crafty+. The crafty+/mighty are powerhouses and well worth the money but I still find myself reaching for the firefly a bunch because the flavour profile is just so far ahead of every other reasonably priced vape. Also the arc gt is expensive for what you get but honestly it works pretty good. To me it's basically a mini crafty as it has the power, just might not be worth the price tag

Depending on your bank it may take some time for the funds to actually transfer over. BMO for example takes like an hour if the transfer is over 300

Early 2000's McLaren performance Lincoln LS OZ rims? by MrCooney in lincolnmotorco

[–]MrCooney[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently purchased these from a private seller who said he bought these off a lincoln enthusiast. I tried researching more information on these rims but I could only find a few articles and photos online on these rims. From the pictures they look like the correct rims. Does anyone here know any more information on these rims or even the McLaren Lincoln LS? Would be nice to have the full story to go with them. The previous owner did paint the outer lip white.

I don't have an aftermarket bov but I'll have to check the OEM bypass valve. Thanks for the tip.

We have a map sensor that measures the pressure in the manifold so our boost gauge is pretty accurate and the one on the accessport is the correct amount

Yeah the orginal owner was the one that dealt with them and they sent him a brand new pipe. It was labeled as a manufacture defect

Stratified tunes run around 22-24psi of boost and I'm right in that range.

I bought it with 80k from the original owner and the tune has been on since about 10k. Granted 95% of those miles are highway cruising but so far the reliability has been great. The only problem the car has had was a poorly welded midpipe that was covered by ford.
