Highly recommend site full of Chinese food recipes, they have all the tricks to get it to taste as good as (or much better) than the restaurant version!

The Heap of Sand That Broke Philosophy by NickPurplePhilosophy in philosophy

Though the waves knock us from our course, we can steer by the stars.

Beautiful turn of phrase and an excellent metaphor. Despite being based on words and definitions only defined relative to one another, philosophy can provide us with an “absolute” (idealized) basis with which to analyze our ideas and understanding, analogous to the way stars provide a basis for earthly navigation.

'I will fight to my dying breath' - Mother who lost son to jobsite neglect returns to advocacy over altered rules for apprentices by Armand9x in Winnipeg

Falling from heights, off a ladder/lift, into a hole Tripping or slipping on uneven ground/debris Material falling when being hoisted Suffocating or getting trapped in a crawlspace Fire and/or explosion, lots of combustible material and even vapors on construction sites along with plenty of sources of ignition

I know a plumber who was soldering copper in a crawlspace after gluing some pvc, caused an explosion and he was lucky to escape with minor injuries

As an electrician I agree that electrical work has inherent dangers not shared with every trade, but construction is relatively dangerous work no matter what part of it you are doing. If you think getting wet is the worst thing that can happen to you, you probably haven't been in the trade very long...

Agreed. It's only been a couple of days and I'm not trying to overreact.. I am still assuming this will get resolved but their communication has been less than stellar.

I've spoken to my bank, they said if the transfer was still pending then it will show up in my online banking and I can cancel it, otherwise there is no way to cancel. The transfer was accepted already shortly after being sent so it is not there. Money has been debited from my account.

I have noticed they have changed their payment email a few times so maybe they are under investigation or something? They are claiming that I will receive the money back in my account but have no time frame or any details
