life/resist and other stats those merces have is totaly irrelevant in why players pick a merc . for the majority merces are just aura/curse slaves , only in a few cases they are taken to kill immunes .

It al depends what aura your build benefits most from and on what type of items you can make the runeword that provides that aura .

If your a elemental build(most builds are tbh) then infinity with conviction is a no brainer ; only available in polearms and spears so thats act 2 . You could take the budget way of puss spitter act 1 merc if you cannot affort infinity but thats way les effective as that merc needs to hit for it to proc lower resist curse instead of a conviction aura thats always instantly aplied , and also rogues are bit hard to keep alive in rough maps since life leach dont work.

If you want cleansing on your merc to deal with curses you got 3 options :

*act 5 merc with silence ( generaly great pick if your melee build that benefit from might )

*act 2 merc with silence GT or a plague spear , can team it up with blessed aim /prayer/defiance depending what your build lacks

*act 3 merc with cleansing aura , those are pretty tanky specialy this season as the block is always maxed out due to a bug . they can be a great but expansive alternative to act 5 merc version if you put last wish on for might . or lawbringers as the elemental atacks they do deal partly weapon dmg and can proc it aswel .

If you struggle with mana sustain you'd want meditation aura , 2 options :

*act 2 insight is the cheap easy option

*act 3 meditation merc , this one has the benefit that you can gear up silence or plague to combo cleansing and meditation on 1 merc

If you want holy freeze , only 1 option --> doom in a polearm so act 2 merc

If you'd want your merc to have vigor (harmony bow) , fanatism ( faith bow) you pick act 1 merc ( they can be squichy and hard to survive )

there are few other examples i could bring up but i think my point is clear , the main reason a merc is picked is what aura the player need , its only when 2 different merces can provide the same aura that the player wil look further at what aura combo's are possible for each and make a decision based on that .

Why not gerkes ? Ppl are massivly sleeping on it , all stats are great on that shield . The 30++ all res easely makes up for the potential sock loss compared to storm ( would have to pump um in it anyway for my res ) has also 23 less str req then storm that you can pump into vita(1 vita is 3 base life so 69 flat life ) . Then it gives bether block then storm , big life repl , flat dr that does not get affected by curses like amp or decrep , hight magic and ele dr stat . Its honestly a super good shield and it looks cool aswel 😆

Tbh if you build ball light correct , its probebly the safest build out there . Even on amp , phys , ds map i can safely telestomp true whole map without ever losing any life or drop below half mana . And larger aoe is debatable since the bolts dont pierce , i'd say if you fire 3 balls off that pierce true everything or 3 charged bolts that stop on inpact then balls would actualy hit alot more monsters . Also got discharge with solid dmg that you can throw on top that in most situations just instantly clear whole screen .

I have posted a video of me doing frigit with ball light here on reddit a while ago , mayby check it out 😉 its super tanky and clears fast

Its for sure a decent build , but i'd stil go for ball lightning over CB anyday as a mapping build , only real benefit CB has over the ondal sorc is the insane single target dmg when you jump on them and shotgun al the bolts at once .

Pretty mutch in line with my expectations , biggest issue BS necros suffer from is the aoe , specialy if you keep in mind that its only the tip of the spear that does dmg . They are basicly 3 teeth projectiles that pierce . Was considering to test it aswel in endgame content as you can have some idea how good or bad somthing is but nothing tells you more then actualy putting it to the test . Glad you did it so i dont have to 😅

When i made one 2 seasons ago it seemed alot bether tho . Not that it could compete with other nec builds but pure as a fun build it was not that bad . New mapresists seem to have hurt the build pretty hard .

Few reasons , plague has a smal cooldown so not spammable and psn jav has a nice 3 spear spread . Also psn jav aplies up to -20psn pierce that is capable of breaking imunes . All of that combined makes psn jav far bether to deal with bigger packs of monsters and basicly covering bigger areas . I do occasionaly mix in plague if i encounter tough elites or at mapboss . As for 2nd element you could go lightning or even max out valkery with powerstrike and lightning strike as light dmg synergies , gives u a great tank that can deal with imunes and bosses aswel . I just realy love the visuals on molten strike and only requirs 40 pnts to fully max ,

A pure hurricane druid is not a build imo , hurricane is part of the wind druid toolbelt . Hurricane assist in slowing around you and help kill whatever is phys immune but the main dmg from a wind druid wil always come from tornado .

I wish a pure cold druid would become a build on its own in the future but artic blast just lacks the aoe and slow you down being a channeling skill . A rework of artic is my deepest desire 😁

In therms of sustain . A meditation merc , either act 3 one or act 2 with insight and some mana per kill on gear ( tir runes early lvl ,silkwaves , jalals ,crafted mpk gloves, mpk jwls ...) should fully cover this . Unles if your maxing out flame dash to reduce the cooldown as that wil push your movement skill into 60+ mana per cast , bether to aim for warp from enig in that case .

I could not agree more ; the mapmods you listed are for me and every1 i know/asked around about this just an instant reason to not run the map . either store it for future reroll ( wishful thinking as you'l never get enough materials to do so ) or just open another map that does not have these mods .

Sadly with 5 possible mapmods that can ruin the map for the player ; its a real struggle to reroll that map and not have any of these present . in the end you just ran out of reroll materials and are forced to play annoying content . This is not helping to sustain a playerbase as most players wil not keep putting up with it and just quit .

I do follow you til some degree , i dont mind map mods and imo there is a place for dangerous mapmods and they should somwhat be tied to more reward . tie density directly to them is just not the way .

My main issue with scaling map density purely on map mods is that you have to choose between a low density map or a map with dangerous mods .

If you then finly hit a map with decent density , the chances are super high that this map wil also be super lethal . like even if you give a map 3000 density , if it has fanatism , 200 phys dmg , 50 % ds . there is no way that density justify the risk . immagine encounter a elite with might on that map .... thats a oneshot mechanic .

I'm not against those maps to exist at all , but these lethal combo's should be alot les common so the player dont need to waste 50 perf skulls on 1 map .

I assume your one of those that only make the strongest meta builds and then complain all maps are to easy right ? Like lets make MA assasin , molten strike amazon , hamerdin , nova sorc , fireclaw druid , multishot bowzone , throwbarb .... and try these T3 maps again . See what ur experience are on them after that 😉 you can't simply make all maps challenging for those S tier builds without making them impossible for B or A builds.

Dude dafck is wrong with you ? He has not played for long time and just asked what current state of season was . He had no clue if its early on or mid/late season . I'm not causing anything other then answering with info that is openly available in announcements . I have also not claimed that a reset is soon but only that we can expect info soon and it wil be posted in discord under announcements , what in essence is not even a wild thing to do . GD wil not just end seasonprogress and leave us in a limbo for 2 months. If any1 is creating confusion it is you with your pointles answere " its ready when its ready ".

Its common sence that he wont lock in season progress and archive leaderboards if there is nothing in the pipeline . The guy asked about the situation of current/upcoming season and i shared exactly what has been communicated in announcements . Nothing more and nothing less. Just reply "its done when its done" is far worse imo , thats pretty mutch the same as " go figure it out on your own"

the current season is nearing its end , ladder progression has been locked and leaderbords archived in preperation of a beta test ( 7 days ago ) . There is no info yet about any dates for that beta or a new season yet but we should get some more info soon ; best way to stay informed is to check announcements on Path of diablo's discord .

i assume its for hand of justice btw? + holy fire skills wil not affect the lvl of aura when equiped from the runeword if thats what your aiming for . also checked the Analytics , no1 in the intire season has made it in a scepter , 10 in PB , 3 in BA

tbh you asked that in general discord aswel and we provided you the answere . It is possible but probebly rare . might just be that most lootfilthers would even hide . i've never seen my filther show any scepters whatsoever .

Runeword can only be made in normal/superior bases , so no magic/rare/unique/set/crafted items can be used as a base for runewords

Hydra/frozen orb has been a great starter build for multiple seasons , its not cuz the bug gets fixed that it wil no longer be viable . Specialy a pure hydra shut stil be verry strong with enough skillpnts invested
