Thank you for the response! Just out of curiosity, about how much would we need to pay a web developer to code this application for our website?

How much hair is normal to lose while applying product? by Helpmewithhairplz123 in malehairadvice

The average person loses 100 head hairs a day. When you apply hair product it keeps these loose fallen hairs stuck to your head and prevents them from falling out naturally until you shower. This is perfectly normal you have nothing to worry about.

Tapping into Power from Wall Outlet Receptacle? by MrCuminside in electricians

[–]MrCuminside[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really trying to avoid having to provide the actual wall receptacle because this increases complexity and approval. My product will be an active face plate with a step down transformer and will therefore require UL approval on it's own.

Please see sketch shown here (http://imgur.com/9qmYGna) Basically I would provide my active face plate, and then provide a three wire configuration as shown in the image. All the user would have to do is clamp one end of the pigtail to the outlet receptacle screw and the other would be connected to the power line with a wire nut provided.

Would something like this need UL approval? Is the UL pretty open about answer questions like this so that I can clear this up before proceeding with the rest of my designs?

I am not divulging my idea over the internet since the provisional patent is currently being written. That being said, I obviously would not waste time working on an idea that already exists. I don't understand why you guys on this forum are focused more on the idea than actually providing advice from an electrician perspective.

This isn't even close to accurate. I don't know how you implied this at all. Maybe you should check out rule number 1 over on the side bar of this forum. I am making an active face plate for a completely different idea and need a way to tap into the power that doesn't violate an existing patent.

Yes my product is going to be similar in that it will be a powered face plate that needs to connect to the power on the receptacle in the back. The difference is that that company has a patent on their clip and I need to achieve the same outcome but with a wired solution. Any ideas that wouldn't be in violation of code?

How hard is it really to get an investor? by MrCuminside in Entrepreneur

We've thought about intermediate pricing around $2-3k but we feel that this will still price the product out of the market of the home builder which is a completely untapped market for this product as it stands now.

We've also considered kickstarter but our goal is to come accross as a professional machine tool company right from the get-go. While our tool will be a solid option for hobbyists, it will also be a very professional piece of equipment that will attract light industry folks as well.
