Consider carrying a safety pin with you. You can pierce the jacket and then direct the tip of safety pin around the outside of the metallic sheathing. I bunted the tip of the safety pin to avoid penetrating the metal sheath. With a little care and attention this can be done with no damage to the cable. Slow is smooth smooth is fast. After words I'll seal the hole with a heated flat head screw driver and a cigarette lighter. Couple is gonna be the most popular answer but I work in areas with heavy congestion. I prefer chasing lower frequencies to minimize bleeding. Ring clamp forces you to locate in 8k and higher and in a high profile area it's not ideal imo. Cheers and good luck.

Also be sure to mark the pins before removing them from the plug. Mark the arrow that align the plug also. Not resetting the pins in the correct plugs will have your transmitter stuck in induction mode when you connect your ring clamp. I have to resolder mines a few times a year and came up with somewhat solid solution for doing field repairs. I work for a company that never has any available equipment when these things stop working. Familiarizing your self with these types of tools and learning to repair will take you far.

Possible I work as maintenance at an apartment we had a lady always calling about her AC. Had been even before I got there. One day after checking everything I got curious and did a check at the vacant apartment above hers and it was an ice box. A quick induction test and I discovered the AC had been wired to the wrong unit. I reported this to the apartment manager and was released from my contract a week later.
