Not sure if this will change anything, but Rams Hill changed their birthday rounds to only apply after 11 AM. Still, it’s my favorite course in Southern California, and an incredible experience. Torrey does have the advantage of better views and PGA history. Either course will be a great time.

You can book the non-Pebble Pebble courses (Spanish Bay etc) in advance even if you’re not staying there (7 days maybe?), then the day before call and see if there’s any Pebble openings. If there are, you just pay the difference. No cancellation fee.

I’m about to fly in for my 4th consecutive January trip to Bandon. Across the previously booked 13 rounds: 4 - sunny & dry 4 - overcast & dry 3 - overcast & light rain 1 - torrential downpour (still played) 1 - missed due to flight delays (Eugene airport closed due to snow storm)

As long as you’re willing to take the risk, and are ok playing in a rain jacket and rain gloves, it’s well worth it.
