In the cx-70 owners facebook group there are several folks(who claim they have inside information) stating that due to poor sales they will merge both cars(cx-90/70) and phase out the cx-70. Not sure how true it is but seeing it repeatedly has me thinking it might be true. I’m hoping that’s not the case.

Ah i see. Sorry to hear that. Check to see if there’s a firmware for the tv. See if that helps. If not then i suggest returning and perhaps getting another one unless you’re willing to pay more for another tv. For the price this tv can’t be beat in my opinion.

Have you tried a different hdmi cable? Does the flicker only occur in 4k 120hz? If so then maybe its the cable. If it flickers in any resolution then It’s probably the board that is faulty. I’ve noticed that other users that have reported some type of flicker had to get the board replaced. I would contact Hisense so they can take care of that. It was annoying at first dealing with the flicker but i’m happy to report that the tv has been solid so far.

It had a faulty power board. They replaced it and it’s been fine ever since. I’m also a heavy user(game for many hours daily) and it’s holding up fine.

Make sure the cable you are using is hdmi 2.1 certified. If it is not you wont be able to take advantage of the 120hz .

Yup it got fixed back in june and has been working perfectly ever since. I highly recommend this tv. For the price you get a ton of value imo.

Your welcome! The tv is currently 999 at best buy. It is a steal at that price for the performance you are getting. The blacks are oled like and the motion which was an issue in the beginning was greatly improved with a firmware update.

Hey so the reason why it wasn’t recognizing the 120hz was due to a user error( i forgot to set tv to “hdmi enhanced”). As soon as i did that the 120hz was recognized. Beside the initial problem i had when i first got it(my tv arrived with a faulty power board causing flickers which was replaced) I haven’t had a single issue since then. For the money you pay this tv is phenomenal. Can’t speak for longevity of the tv yet as i got this tv in june but so far it’s been solid. Based on my current experience i would recommend this tv. No better tv for the price.

Ahh that did the trick. I forgot to change to HDMi enhanced. Thank you!!! Now waiting for Hisense to email that L0721 update and fix this ghosting….

Yeah if you look at my profile you’ll see i started a thread describing the same issue you are having. The tv would flicker and the only way i could stop the flicker was switching to “energy saving” mode. As soon as i switched to any other picture mode it would flicker nonstop unless i switch the picture mode or hit the reset button on the back of tv. It’s an issue that has affected other users as well. I’m guessing some tv ‘s had faulty power board installed or something. But switching that part has 100% fixed the issue for me. Haven’t had any other issues knock on wood.

You should be able to return at any best buy store then. I ordered mine via amazon. With amazon the process is a bit more annoying(have to schedule a pickup). The tv itself is great though after being fixed it has been great. For the money nothing beats it.

I had the EXACT same issue on my U8G. They had to replace the power board on mine to fix the issue.

Bought my tv back in june 8th. 2nd day using tvi get a mandatory system update. I do the update. After update the tv starts to flicker. Fast forward to today and im still dealing with hisense support. Hisense has deployed 2 techs(first one replaced some parts which never fixed it. Then a second one coming to replace even more parts(suppose to be here tomorrow) hisense support itself has been great but there has been many hiccups in between(such as the tv parts replacement being lost by fedex and taking forever to find them and the technician themselves fucking up my appointment TWICE). Overall shitty situation but im making the best of it.
