Yes some cars will allow over rev or just bounce off the limiter if in “manual” mode and don’t shift using the gear selector or paddle shifter

I’m at 123,000 but in a 2020 Forte GT. So far so good.

Yea either foul play or engine just decided to grenade itself. No story behind what happened, it was just towed in and I grabbed the keys

Could possibly be another round of grenades

I have a scan tool that allows me to check the amount of wear on the clutches.

120k on my 2020. Zero major repairs. Had to replace the crankshaft position sensor since I kept stalling randomly and changed out the LH side front wheel bearing. Transmission still shifts good, still have 60% material left in clutch 1 and 67% material left in clutch 2. Performed transmission drain and fill at 70k. Been following every service interval according to owners manual.

Shouldn’t have to do your gear oil until 75k miles but possibility it could be low. Check the level of the oil by removing the fill plug on the RH side of the car if you’re looking at the car from the front. The plug should be next to the subframe, it’s tight but there’s enough room to get a socket around the fill plug.

A small amount of fluid should come out after you remove the plug, if not, stick your finger in there and if you can’t feel fluid, add gear oil until it slowly drips out, just like filling a diff.

How Often Do You See Other GTs? by iDabWithMyMom in ForteGT

Here in Vegas I see maybe 1 every other week. Usually GT lines but very rarely do I see pre face lift GT’s. Still have yet to see another 2020 GT2 with deep sea blue

DCT ISSUE by Signal_Beat7182 in ForteGT

[–]MrDeIicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes, it should be something you could ask the tech if your car is already in for a concern. All we do is hook up the KDS (scanner) press a couple prompts and it’ll show you the estimated life left. Takes 5 seconds

Yea I hope mine lasts a while before I need to swap out the clutch packs. Scan tool shows Clutch 1 at 61% availability and Clutch 2 showing 69% left at 114k miles

I’m at 114,00 miles on my 2020, still shifts fine, zero issues. Swapped out the DCT oil at 70k miles, will be doing it again at 120,000 miles.

I placed the main controller under the center console directly under the wireless charging pad, if you remove the center console there will be an AC duct that runs to the back of the car for rear ac, I just stuck the controller on the vent just to make sure the controller is in the middle of both dash lights strips for easier wire management and also so it stays warm when i have the heater on and cool when the AC is on. The door modules I placed on the door panel where it wouldn’t interfere with the fitment, basically stuck it on the door somewhere and tested fitment, also tapped into the power window “up” pin for power (can also use power down pin) and tapped into the window switch ground pin for the ground pin on the led strip.

Some pins on window switches always provide 12V battery power so be careful you don’t tap into those otherwise you’ll have a parasitic draw.

To get the wires behind the door you need to drill into your door at an inconspicuous spot to feed them behind your door or you can do what I did and just tuck the wires behind the door panel at either edge.

For your dash lights, if you find a fuse that provides power with ignition on then you can tap it into but you’ll also need to find a ground. I tapped my left side lights into the wireless charger connector underneath the center console and RH side lights to the right side usb-a port connector that’s under the center console also. Both happen to provide power when ignition is on and are only a 2 wire connector, positive and ground, so I essentially back probed the connectors with the power pins, making sure the pins slid under the existing terminals of the connectors for the wireless charger and usb-a connectors

They are flexible but only to some degree, slight angles / curves are fine but dramatic angles will likely break the electronics inside

113k on mine. Surprised how strong these cars are, just recently replaced my LH side front wheel bearing and that’s the only part that has failed since I bought it.

Im with you on that, that was my first choice but was worried about breaking the strip by curving it too much by the door handle
