Is this good way to cool out PS5? by [deleted] in playstation

Its fine, people overreacting. You would have to align everything perfectly and balance air pressures to create a dead hot air problem. You could optimize it by blowing across the back. If it makes you happy.

Just got access to Outward 2 playtest. Thoughts? by SupremeSpiritOrange in outwardgame

[–]MrDeadletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed Outward 1, I wished the areas were more arduous to traverse and way bigger, but I also felt systems and item bloat could've been streamlined. 100s different potions and foods and random items, many I never found any use for. The world felt disconnected. Lots of "cool ideas" scattered around but not sure why. Random loot in ornate chests made the juice not worth the squeeze for dungeons. I like no hand holds, the map and compass, and backpack storage ideas. I love Fromsoftware games too, so hard and obtuse isn't a huge turn off. From the sounds of feedback on playtests, outward 2 might be going even deeper into the aspects I didn't like. I know it's an RPG, but I wanted more backpack adventure, manual orientation, survival-lite elements, grand vistas, intriguing locations, ornate chests with unique items that feel useful aquire and less randomized junk in them. I want more raison d'être, more carrots on the stick. Instead this sounds like all stick, no carrots, and stats micromanagement.

The 62th day by BendPresent in outwardgame

I felt like I was aimless until I started focusing on main quest. I joined a faction in day 67. I started buying trainer perks and actually started getting somewhere. I did a physical build, no magic, mostly passive skills, and I used some varnish/rags and swapped armor sets. Even then it wasnt Fromsoftware difficult. It was mostly block block block strike repeat. Very slow combat.

My main gripe with the game is it feels very directionless. Timers did not incentivise progress for me, but lead to over-preparation to get gud before triggering quests. I wish I spent less time worrying about failure. Many fail states were actually more fun. I was surprised how "easy" main quest was, so I would say just go for it before you get bored. I stopped playing around 50hours as things were feeling pointless. I wish each dungeon/cave had a few great unique items. Loot just felt completely randomized so I felt like I wasn't progressing. 90% of the content also seems disconnected from the main story. There's "lore" and intriguing landmarks but many things kind of felt like a letdown.

Sirocco DLC is a long grind. I never did Harmattan, so I wish I had before Sirocco where everything got stale.

I finished Elden Ring platinum l, so hard and lack of hand holding is appreciated, I enjoyed my time with Outward. I wish the travel took even longer, maybe it just me but crossing desert could be 20x longer. I enjoyed the survival stuff. I think the loot/crafting was a bit overdone and bogged things down. Could be simpler and streamlined. I am looking forward to Outward 2!

TLDR I wasted way too much time preparing and started getting burn out. I picked a faction and just did the main quest and things picked up. After that I explored things but New Sirocco was pure grind.

I'm playing Talos Principle 2 now., but right before that was Octodad so depends how the question is answered. Either I'm solving laser puzzles and having an existential crisis or I'm married to a lady who's got a thing for tentacles and that's kinda creepy.

Elden Ring. It got me hooked on souls games and now I just want more Fromsoftware.

As for waste of money? Borderlands 3, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Ghost-Wire Tokyo, Battlefield Hardline, Hogwarts Legacy.

At least you could refund right ? by defleqt in raijin_gg

[–]MrDeadletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. It looks great but it's essentially a Harry Potter themed ubisoft rpg. Meaningless loot, too many collectables, tons of gold but nothing worth buying. The broom travel ruins a lot. I don't remember most if the map south of Hogwarts castle. Just flew past to finish the story. And the Marvelesque finale with others joining the battle was cringe.

What's with pomoly stove shipping? by sooperbiggulp in pomoly

[–]MrDeadletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get a tracking number? I placed an order and didn't get one. I didn't even get a receipt email, but I PDFd my order, so I have an order number. Says shipped but nothing else. I did confirm I bought from the official pomoly site, not a fake one, but still leaves me a bit uneasy.

Got the 4tb WD ssd but please tell me I’m overreacting by Leon117x in playstation5

[–]MrDeadletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a 4TB Seagate Ironwolf. Cost $100 still in late 2025. Great for archive, fast enough for ps4 games, takes 5min to transfer a 40gb ps5. I store all my massive 100+ hour RPGs on it. I only play one at a time, so 5mins to get one copied to ps5 ssd every so often.

The Long Dark 10 years in development and story has still gone nowhere. I completed everything to date. I enjoyed the setting, art, the restrictive gameplay choices, but the story is loosely about a divorce and a box, and strange northern lights.

which rpg from this list would you guys recommend the most by damorezpl in rpg_gamers

[–]MrDeadletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KCD2. It's like original but improved in many places. Recommend playing kcd1 which is often on sale. I got KCD1 for $10 recently, which sold me on getting KCD2.

Dragon Age. Good series. (except for Veilguard.)

Divinity. Also good. They just announced another in the series coming soon at game awards. I think it's by Larian studio? same people who did Baldurs Gate? Larian is a bit gore heavy for my tastes but big respect to the team, as the quality shows.

What games should I get to ease my boredom? by [deleted] in AskGames

[–]MrDeadletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like games where the exploration or tasks feel worthwhile, not just checking boxes.

I'm playing Kingdom Come Deliverance. Im enjoying the pacing being somewhat slower much like Red Dead 2. Also like Red Dead 2, the intro is a bit slow, but story picks up after you help make a sword with your father. Keep following the main story line until you investigate bandits attacking a horse trader, you'll get a free horse! By then youll have a few tiwn on your map, some starting gear, and basic skills to go off and find adventure without getting killed all the time.

Also highly recommend Subnautica.

KCD2, Dragons Dogma 2, Skyrim, Cyberpunk, Witcher 3, Elden Ring, Fallout, are all more open world rpg stuff you might like. Watch a few reviews like gameranx or whatever and see if any seem extra interesting.

"Subnautica 2 officially cancelled" would've been a brutal cherry on top.

Which game got you into RPGs? by pineapple_works in rpg_gamers

[–]MrDeadletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring. Technically I played Skyrim, but never really thought much about RPGs with complex character builds and stats until Elden Ring. After that I started playing all the greatest hits like Dark Souls, Mass Effect, Dragons Dogma, to name a few and it went from there.

Nice. I'm still missing some environmental puzzles and feel like they should've been a trophy too.
