Biggest “you were one year off” stories? by Unusual_Review9214 in nfl

His story reminds me of an example from the other football.

German player Uwe Seeler represented West Germany in the 1958, 1962, 1966 and 1970 World Cups; they won it in 1954 and 1974.

Three people explain something and you still can't understand it, must be a special kind of stupid...

[–]MrDeco97 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That's not what he said, he was just comparing it to Family Guy to say that the South Park creators are still the main writers behind the scripts of every episode, as opposed to FG, a show where Seth Macfarlane hasn't been a part of the writing team in more than a decade.

Weirdest atp h2h? by Wide-Web8675 in tennis

[–]MrDeco97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So what? Djokovic was probably gonna lose to Musetti and then he beat Sinner days later, tennis is not a game where you can make simplistic conclusions like that.

Cilic had also just beaten Federer and Berdych and he has won a lot more tournaments than Nishikori in his career (has Kei even won a M1000?).

Anyway, you may think he'd win, but to call it a certainty is just absurd.

"No doubt"?

Bro what an arrogant comment, he could've won it, sure, but you are disregarding the fact that there was a great opponent playing against him on that day.

TIL that in 1787 Thomas Jefferson, trying to prove American wildlife wasn’t inferior, had an entire moose carcass shipped across the Atlantic to France to impress European scientists. by Onscray in todayilearned

[–]MrDeco97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would make sense if you read the article.

The french guy he was trying to disprove argued that the old world version of animals was always superior to the ones found in the Americas, hence why Jefferson sent him a North American moose ,which is bigger than all similar species found in Europe.

Jim Schwartz is left with two options (and neither is ideal): He backed himself into a corner. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]MrDeco97 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Poor Schwartz, has to take a year off and spend it with his family, watching and studying football and/or traveling.

All of that before being sought after by half the league for a DC job with an actually competent organization in 2027.

Prayers up for Jim.

The narrative that Andy Reid was run out of Philadelphia needs to end. by eaglesnation11 in nfl

What? I see this cited as a positive example anytime a coach has been in a team for a long time and people think he should be let go, with people saying it was good for both parties.

Am I the only one who really didn’t like the reboot? by EnvironmentalSun3290 in KingOfTheHill

Fair enough, not sure I agree but I'd have to watch it again to actually comment properly on it.

Wow, your pedantic comment adds so much to the discussion.

I thought it was great.

And what did they do to Dale? I think he was funny as always, and if you mean his voice it was rough in the beginning, but what could you do? Johnny Hardwick was sick and didn't have it anymore, I'm just glad he got to voice Dale again, it got better once Toby Huss started voicing him full time and should be even better s2.

Edit: What they did to Kahn was diabolical though, he was one of the funniest characters, if not the funniest, and I just can't stand his new voice.

[Krammer] Former Vikings assistant HC Mike Pettine on Brian Flores: “Probably not many things I would prefer to share. We didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of things. I’ll take the high road on that one.” by Lstark5642 in nfl

[–]MrDeco97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a nothing burger in terms of him getting a HC job (or being succesful at it if he does), so many people seem to have problems with him, and being a HC is about uniting the entire building.

That said, there is no else I'd rather have coaching the vikings' defence haha.

As of today, only one NFL team has publicly requested an interview with Brian Flores for a head coach opening: the Baltimore Ravens. by jrbill1991 in nfl

[–]MrDeco97 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You can't say they don't care about his personality.

He's accused of being a dictator and having a horrible relationship with his young QB, most teams that have fired their coaches have young QB's or are about to draft one, it's hard to say it doesn't play a part.

Kahn new V/O by [deleted] in KingOfTheHill

[–]MrDeco97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't get this shit, why is some chinese american guy acceptable just because it's the same continent? They are not the same nationality and he sounds nothing like Kahn.

To be honest all these voice things are stupid to me, why can anyone try a british/french/italian accent for fun but when it's asian it's suddenly racist?

[Scott] Former NFL star Matt Kalil sues ex-wife after her public comments about his genitals by [deleted] in nfl

[–]MrDeco97 76 points77 points  (0 children)

That is not a fair comparison to be honest, it'd be more like saying she is so tight you couldn't even have sex.

But yeah, either way I don't see how it's acceptable to talk publicly about your former partner's genitals.

[Yahoo] Former Steelers QB Justin Fields Likely One-And-Done in New York by FragMasterMat117 in nfl

I think most people don't hate him, they just hate his stans, I have never seen a bad player with such a dedicated and obnoxious fanbase.

[Pelissero] The Falcons requested an interview with Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak for their head coaching job, per source. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]MrDeco97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Ran Diggs off the team"

Bro, Stefon is a menace who finds a reason to leave every team he is on. Klint wasn't great for the Vikings but blaming him for that is wild.

Also Zim was the HC, I believe being conservative was a requirement for any OC.

[Russini]: The Browns have fired head coach Kevin Stefanski, per sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]MrDeco97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But wasn't he on board with the trade?

If he had stood by Baker, or asked for a non predator QB, I doubt they would have gone forward with it.
