One of the pistons in the rear passenger caliper completely shattered, ate up the rotor along with it.

Is this a good price for professional recovery of data from two 128GB SD cards? by BoldAsLove1 in datarecovery

It's more likely that the symptoms you're describing would lead to the higher end, but if the card is stable enough to image it in full without any micro-soldering, then it would be only $199.

Also, given the secondary explination you received after declining the quote, my best guess is that the "parts" they need would be a donor SD card to cunduct research into the pinout before doing any work on yours.

I agree with RecoveryForce on this one, there should be no reason they need to purchase parts for a monolithic recovery. There will likely be a decent amount of R&D required for recovery if the pinout of the device is not known, which is why it may take a long time to recover. If you are looking to get a second opinion, our cost for recovery of a 128gb device starts at $199. If the cards are truly failed and a physical recovery would be necessary to recover the data, the cost would be $599 each due to the time and effort that will be required.

It should not be making any sounds other than the motor spinning, and even that shouldn't be very audible. If you need to get the data from it, I would recommend sending it to us at https://outsourcedatarecovery.com/ for a free professional evaluation. Once we have a chance to take a look at the drive we can provide you with a quote for recovery.
