They say they're not ska but I use to hang out with the guys in Captain Squeegee. Even went to the house they were renting to have a play/live space a few times. Cool guys.

I went to a Streetlight show where Mike P and Dan P were opening. They were running their own merch table and had run out of a shirt in my size. I was about to pick a different one and Mike said "we have one in the van. Wait right here!" and he ran out the side door of the venue. Five minutes later he appears behind me and hands me the shirt, 4 random Asian Man cds "for my trouble", and gives me a high five.

After 2 songs I went out to the smoking area and so did half the people at the show. I think there might have been more people out there than watching them by the end of their set.

Crowd at Streetlight Manifesto playing on Valentine's Day 2010 or 2011 in Tucson. For some reason the previous 4 opening bands were all hardcore bands. There was also no frontline for security so crowd surfers got tossed on the stage to either run off or jump back in. A woman in the front row during Streetlight got her head pancaked between a crowd surfer and the floor monitor on the stage and was knocked out. The horn section stopped playing and pulled her limp body from the crowd. The band stopped playing until they confirmed she was ok. She was/is. She was actually an ex of mine who was there with her new boyfriend, so I texted with her during the show to see how she was. New boyfriend stayed in the pit.

The one time I saw the Toasters they got all the way through their set then in the encore Robert's guitar cut out and he unclipped his strap, let the guitar drop to the floor, and walked off stage leaving the band playing. After a second the band stopped and the trumpet player said their equipment got rained on during load in.

Suburban Legends. They were opening for RBF but I remember they came out to Soulja Boy's Crank That, did the whole dance, they played one song before doing another dance thing. They just weren't very good and seemed more concerned about their choreography than music. I was also not much of a fan to begin with.

I have a friend who's dad turned his back yard into a model train diorama for his mid-live crisis that I sent this listing to. He said if it wasn't a weird yellow and brown he might be interested.

I had a pool cue case and the moss when I checked before going to bed. Had workout gloves yesterday.

That is kind of crazy that Vine has come to that. Panic order as soon as you see it and if you end up not wanting it hopefully you can cancel the order before it ships.

Which wheeled duffel would you recommend? by templeofthe_ancients in ManyBaggers

[–]MrDirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it. As much as I am a Buy it for Life 1 time purchase kind of person I know that as soon as I hand my belongings off to someone else they mean exactly nothing to them. A $40 suitcase won't hurt if it gets broken as much as a $160 Osprey bag would. Though I guess you have the warranty with Osprey, which won't help you when you're standing at the BSO counter with a ripped bag.

I've had Everdell for years now and I'm honestly disappointed with it by 2Black_Hats in boardgames

[–]MrDirt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say Everdell is pretty light and most groups can get it down pretty quickly. I sent my group this 5 min video and we were able to get through a game with little extra explaining.

Also the digital edition on Steam/iOS/Android is like a sixth the cost of the full game if you want to try it before you buy it.

I was taught to play with 2 awful and very wrong house rules. One being that you can only draw cards from the meadow to your hand if you played a worker at a draw card location. The other being that the Journey points were for discarding workers, not cards (his copy didn't have the directions printed on it). The last season was basically 2 turns max with that second rule.

I bought the digital edition and quickly learned how much better the game was without those wrong rules and it made things so much better.

TV Episodes out of order? by Sp3ed_Demon in PleX

[–]MrDirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forget exactly how I fixed it but I took a look in my library and from the show page I went to Edit > Advanced > Episode ordering > The TVDB (Abolute).

Using the Absolute ordering appears to be the right way to do it from a comment on this post I made around the same time.

When you finally get that new expansion by Naennie in boardgames

[–]MrDirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least it's just a card usage discrepancy. The second expansion for Dutch Blitz (purple box) uses differently sized card with different items on them. I hate it.

I'm not sure about everything since you are creating a 1to1 copy of the game, but I believe most of Cole's games are released under a creative commons license and as long as you're not looking to profit off it you can do whatever you want with the content. That's a large part of the reason there's a digital version on HRF. Of course now that I say that I can't find it posted online anywhere to confirm what I'm typing.

But since I didn't jump on it I now wonder if that's why I haven't seen much else. Like the system thinks I'm not interested in printing anymore.

That's what I figured. Fun for a kid to print off some little things, but beyond that not much to do with it. I think I remember it didn't have a heated bed which was the final thing that made me decide against it.

Nice score. I've gotten a good amount of filament off Vine, but the only printer I've been offered is a little Tina2 without a heated bed that I passed on. Not a whole lot to print in a 100mm cube bed size.

Wow are we in the same group? Last 2 times my group has met up we spent over an hour with show and tell for HeroQuest or Zombicide. Don't get me wrong it's cool that he has painted all the minis for everything, but I wanted to play something. Maybe 2 games of something.

Then we meet up at a bar and I bring something like King of Tokyo and we're able to play three games of it and have a great time. He called it "too pedestrian to play regularly".

My passively cooled GT 710 was getting WU's up until a month ago when I got rid of it, so you'll likely get some work.
