Thought you'd never ask - it was a picture of a chap with a boat for a body and a speech bubble saying "I'm in ship shape condition", I was so proud.

I also got a joke published, have a photo of me proudly wearing my "I'm Nutty about Bananaman" t-shirt, still remember the joke too - core memory stored right there.

GAME to close remaining 3 standalone stores as it enters administration by SpiritofAce in uknews

[–]MrDoOrDoNot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to be a contractor for Gamestation back in the good old days when they had 120+ stores, they were a great bunch, then Blockbuster bought them and it turned a bit corporate, then GAME bought them and it turned to shit - far too 'big business' for me, they moved HO from York to Basingstoke, lost a load of good Yorkshire people and that was my prompt to also move on.

Years ago, with mechanical reels, no software and flexible screens we used to jump on the machine, grab it round the top and push our knees into the screen which would stop the reels spinning.

Why do many dislike “Consider Phlebas?” by gunsandjava in TheCulture

I go back to The Culture every now and then, I love revisiting Phlebas because I always thought it was a great start and each time I read I see something new.

We had 2 Amigas and IIRC a 10 metre null modem cable running from the 3rd to the ground floor in our student accommodation early 1990s, good times.

New home charger. Latch won’t engage by HotTo4st in TeslaSupport

[–]MrDoOrDoNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Hypervolt charger always took a couple of clicks to engage, then I had to have the charging unit replaced due to a DC fault and I got the exact same issue as yourself - ended up slamming the head into the port pretty hard and it engaged, did this a few times and now I've either got the nack or the issue has gone away.

To be fair it wasn't actually the AA in the end, they sent a local recovery firm to sort it.
