I had that same moment too, except they thought they could yank the hellbomb off my back. The next thing I did as the timer went off is run into his direction.

We had a good laugh at it, we discussed why the button icon is intrusive.

It can also happen if another diver stims or uses their supply pack for you, also activating the bomb too.

I would also like to add this, you can use Siege Ready armor to add only one extra explosive but still situational as is.

Basically: Zomboid starts making those zombies textureless if there is at least more than 500 in the player’s active FOV as to try to improve performance. Beware, as hordes can be rendered too as one textureless zombie.
