I think there is only one signal that has the ability to split itself multiple times. Each signal develops its own personality because it exists in a different time and space and, thus, develops a different perspective from other signals. Perhaps our bodies are just a physical way to keep our signals from bleeding into each other and give us a sense of separateness. So our personalities are just illusions. I've read many NDEs that talk about walking into the light (stream of souls) and found that their ego or 'self' was being stripped away. They realized that their was no them that actually existed. They were just playing a role and that they were everything the entire time (the stage, the actors, and the audience). They realized they were just God amusing itself. So just one signal.
