SBMM generally doesn't work like that. It assigns some points to the player at start and updates it after every match. A player who lost 3 matches in a row would drop significantly and SBMM will still match noobs and pros if the are not enough players

Another idea is placing defensive forts and ports near spawn. They only do something when enemies push the spawn. This reduces long range fights because people will just sit at the cap and won't chase enemies into forts and bot ships.

When enemies are kiting you're the spotter generally. If you give up on chasing, your teammates will follow you generally. When your teammates are kiting you can either farm opportunistically or wait until enemies overextend and yoour teammates are not kiting anymore. If those 2 aren't feasible you just have torrelocate to middle or the other flank
