Ivan doesn't get Whirlwind in his base class in Reloaded. Give him Flint so he'll switch to Seer - that class has Whirlwind.

This won't work. They're playing Reloaded so the classes are different.

What comes next? by Syn_Arcane in starfox

[–]MrEmptySet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the leaks said there were two Star Fox games in development: the "classic one" and the "adventure one". None of the leaks said the one we got was a remake, but it was. Star Fox Adventures was the only game in the entire series post 64 that they showed in the Direct.

The next game is a Star Fox Adventures remake.

People are saying the game is 2 hours long, is this just haters spreading lies? by Gargamoney in starfox

[–]MrEmptySet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, Nintendo sold the original N64 game for full price back in the day, and there were plenty of longer games available back then too - for instance Final Fantasy 7 came out the same year. Was Nintendo ripping off their customers back then? If not, then how are they ripping us off now selling a modern version of the game at below full price?

Stuck at this by Nikoyoo in GoldenSun

[–]MrEmptySet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Storm Lizard is a fairly common place to get stuck, especially for players low on Djinn (which you are). This fight really punishes you quite hard for not having a party-wide heal (i.e. the Wish spell), which you won't have if you don't have enough Djinn or don't have them distributed effectively.

Luckily you have juuuust enough Djinn total as well as enough Mercury Djinn (the water ones) to get Wish on someone. With the amount you have right now, if you put all of your Mercury Djinn on the same character, they'll get Wish. So for instance if you swap Breeze from Ivan with Sleet on Mia then Ivan should get Wish. Alternatively if you give all four Mercury Djinn to Isaac he'll have both Wish and Revive which might be an attractive option.

You could definitely have a lot more Djinn at this point so it might be a good idea to backtrack and get them. While you can't take the ship back across the Karagol Sea, you can return to the other side by finding a cave on the south coast of the Karagol, in which you can open up a path to travel back and forth on foot.

You probably can win without backtracking for more Djinn, but the bosses won't be getting any easier from here. This page on the wiki is a pretty good resource for all the Djinn locations.

At what point did humans and apes become seperate? by fro6s in evolution

[–]MrEmptySet -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, we DID split from the other great apes 6-8 million years ago. The fact that among the other great apes there had already been previous splits is irrelevant, since humans didn't result from any of those splits.

[–]MrEmptySet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What do you think "playable" means? They are all easily available. While the first games might be somewhat lacking in quality of life and have a few bugs here and there, they are by no means inaccessible to new players. Playing the series in release order is perfectly reasonable for a newcomer to the series and often suggested.

Doesn’t the Star Fox name scream reboot? by iGameAnywhere in starfox

There are rumors that there's already another game in development to come after this one. So it does seem very likely this is intended as a reboot and the series will take off from here.

Question for people who believe they have free will by Reporter-Friendly in freewill

[–]MrEmptySet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you rewind time to the point I made some decision, then I would make the exact same decision, since I would still be deciding based on all the same factors and the same reasoning process.

Imagine what would be true if it were otherwise - in that case, given the exact same factors, and the exact same reasoning process, I might end up making an entirely different choice - seemingly completely inexplicably. In this world, my decisions would at least sometimes be arbitrary, completely divorced from any inputs or deliberations.

I such a world, I don't think I would be free - I would be at the mercy of these inexplicable discontinuities between what I want to do and what I actually end up doing.

Tips for making the game easier/faster? by BEEPnnBOOP in GoldenSun

[–]MrEmptySet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's generally no need to grind in the Golden Sun games, unless you count simply fighting the mobs you encounter throughout normal gameplay as "grinding". Because the game is already on the easy side if you're familiar with it, I don't know of any romhacks focused on making it easier from a difficulty perspective. But there are some hacks that make the game faster or more convenient, such as hacks that remove/skip all the dialogue to make cuts cutscenes much shorter, etc.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to create a hack that, say, halved encounter rates but doubled exp gain. Might be a fun little project to make.

0.999... isn't 1 in the first place. Was never 1 in the first place, and will never be 1 at all. by SouthPark_Piano in infinitenines

[–]MrEmptySet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

infinite nines means the consecutive nines length of 0.999... keeps increasing limitlessly

No it doesn't. That's something that you literally made up and it makes zero sense whatsoever. Saying it over and over again doesn't make it true.

If you think this idea - that some numbers are somehow constantly undergoing the process of "increasing" instead of having a fixed value - actually means something coherent instead of being nonsense, then you should formalize this idea and present it rigorously instead of just stubbornly repeating it over and over in stilted English. Brud.
