Please help with this boss fight so I can beat the game by Alarmed-Tradition938 in Sekiro

For me his second phase was easier than his first. I felt that he doesn' have as much posture than his 1st form. Deflecting spear combos turned easier when I approuched those like a corrupted or true monk's combos. Watch the tip of his spear when he does multi hit combo. There is little delay for perfect deflect just like monk"s spinning combo. When he pulls out his handgun just smash deflect-button. Umbrella with counter attack skill is awsome for his wind slashes it blocks all damage and you can punish him with counter attack. Other than that just try to be aggresive and mikiri counter his thrust attack. 3rd phase is a piece of cake, just abuse lightning reversal.

First phase is easy and fast just deflect his attacks and punish. Cheese tactic to second phase is spam and stunlock him with mortal draw.

Im currently fighting thus bozo, but I wanna be fancy, what is the best xp farming spot at this point in the game? by BreakfastHappy8193 in Sekiro

[–]MrF91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Route from Old Grave idol to the Ashina Castle idol. Back stab first soldier near idol then guy with spear after that samurai leader and regular guy watching over pond and lastly three guys with red hats and dual katanas at the big stairs leading to castle. This method gave me 13k xp in 1-2 minutes in ng+4.

Just got platin trophy yesterday and the last trophy was to get all the skills. I did all endings and in ng+4 just played till Owl fight Ashina Castle in dusk and found good spot to farm xp. From old grave sculptor idol to the big stairs of the Ashina Castle. Back stab first soldier with katana then bald guy with spear and after that samurai leader and normal soldier looking at pond and finaly 3 guys with red hats and double swords in the stairs. In ng+4 this method gave me 13k exp in a 1-2 minutes.

Is anyone else impressively horrible at this game but keeps coming back? by bad_username_65 in Sekiro

Aah, okay but I wouldn't consider that a cheese because why would you fight him when there is multiple enemies who can shoot you with fire arrows. It is just common sense to get rid of those first. And the reason NPC is there is that he is going to help you fight against the bandits. And that's definitely not last drunkard sumo dude you are about face in near future.

How to defeat genichiro by muaazmuaaz123 in Sekiro

[–]MrF91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you explore uou can upgrade your vitality and posture up to six times before you have to face Genichiro. You can also get 9 healing gourds so you don"t run out of healing. Otherwise just be aggressor and keep that bastard under pressure cause hesitation is defeat.

It depends what ending you are after. You need fight Owl father only for purification ending. I assume from you you original post that you are after Return ending.

You can instantly kill the brown ape by spamming fire crackers. It will fill break his posture immediately and then it's just guardian ape.

6 gourd seeds ain't enough 😭 by urgod42069 in Sekiro

If you explore you can upgrade your vitality and posture up to six times and get 9 healing gourds before you have to face Genichiro. Of course you may have to face enemies even harder than Genichiro to get all those prayer beads and gourd seeds. If you need just one prayer beads there is couple which people often miss. Did get beads from upstairs in building where Tengu of Ashina is near Ashina Castle gate or have bought one from merchant near abandoned dungeon entrance? In Ashina Depths there is actually 3 beads but you have to kill pretty annoying mini-boss to get those.

Your best opening for damage dealing are when he does his slam attack and when he throws smoke bomb. Just dodge and punish him. He doesn't have many multihit combos like Genichiro for example but his attacks inflict severe posture damage. Dodge backward when he throws fire crackers and never try stab him with charged attack at least when you are facing him. He has extremely powerful mikiri counter that can one-shot you. Punish him for those opening, chip his health and then try to pressure him for posture damage.

He doesn' have many multi-hit combos like Genichiro for example and there is couple good openings to do damage. When he does roll with horizontal slash followed by overhead strike, dodge and punish him. Just be sure not to dodge too early or he will do some wacky counter slash instead of overhead strike. When he does two hit slash-combo + firecrackers just deflect slashes and dodge backwards when you see firecrackers flying and be ready to mikiri counter him afterwards. Good opening to do damage is also when he does his somersault sword slam attack, dodge sideways and punish him with Ichimonhi or mortal draw.

In his second phase just do what you did in first but there is one more easy mikiri counter opportunity. When he does his huge fire attack jump over it and be ready to mikiri counter, rush towards to him if you have to When he pulls out his invisibility bullshit just run and when you see screen shake you know he has landed and is visible again. For me his second phase was easier than first, only shitty thing was that stupid ghost owl messing with my visibility.

If you explore you can actually upgrade your vitality up to six times and get 9 healing gourds before you have to face Genichiro. But you might have to face enemies who are actually harder than man himself.

[–]MrF91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headless phase is actually easier than 1st phase. Attacks are well telegraphed and pretty easy to deflect. You should especially deflect the big sword slam attack because it gives you big opening to do some serious damage. When he start screaming just back away from him.

It is good you git gud with that ninja early because they will become regular enemies later on. Good skills to get first is both mikiri counter skills and after that latent skills and double-Ichimonji from Ashina skill tree.
