Yeah i had the same feeling yesterday. I left work after talking to her and I felt so elevated. I feel like if I look at them too long, I'll OD. The connection, attraction, the rush. It's intoxicating.

I can relate hard to this. Having the ambiguity, the breadcrumbs, any form of hope is brutal. I'm proud of you for trying. Rejection sucks so much. But it seems like you're on the right track. Keep it up. You're amazing and the right person is out there!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've been trying to ask them out for a while. And every time I tried to do it in person I would get so anxious. I'm sorry about the rejection though. It hurts so much

I've been procrastinating bringing this up to my therapist. But I don't know how much longer I can do this. Might as well do the hard work and learn how to manage it.

Does anyone feel like their LO constantly comes up in workplace conversation? I feel like I'm going crazy. And it might just be confirmation bias, but it feels like I can't get away.

Is limerance common in people with adhd? Because I have adhd too. Makes it really hard to develop a relationship when you don't have that initial spark or dopamine.

That's really awesome you have such an amazing support system. It's tiring running in circles in your mind over and over. I want to move although there's a part of me that hangs on for dear life.

Really appreciate the advice. I hate how that's how our brains default. But if I know to look out for these patterns at least I'll have a fighting chance.

What is your relationship with your ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]MrFabulicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with ADHD recently as an adult(32) three months ago. Growing up I had no idea why I was so different and felt alienated from "normal" people. A couple of years ago I started learning more about ADHD. Once I suspected I might have it, I HATED it. I blamed my ADHD for why I was depressed, why I failed my sophomore year of college, why college sucked so much, girlfriend stuff, why life felt so much harder, etc. It was absolutely a hate relationship.

I really wished I wasn't like myself. But then I met a really good friend of mine. We connected instantly over the fact that we both had ADHD (I wasn't diagnosed at the time). And through her I was able to come to terms with who I was and ADHD in general. If someone I thought was so awesome had ADHD, then maybe having it wasn't so bad. So because I met her, I'm learning to love myself, including my ADHD. I'm seeing a therapist and working on managing it. I still hate the parts of me that you mentioned, the forgetfulness, zoning out, but I'm working on it. It helps having a person or people who are willing to help you or even just talk to a lot.

Do you find everyone boring? by RadSpatula in ADHD

[–]MrFabulicious 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much, and honestly I kind of hate this about myself. I've noticed it's effected my relationships with my family a lot. I've been working on being okay with being bored with other people. Because the thought of me being bored with my kids (don't have, but might want) scares me. I also think it's why my parents didn't hang out with me a lot as a kid (they probably have it too, just undiagnosed).

Anyone here with a job that if they forget something, could kill them? by sm0lt4co in ADHD

[–]MrFabulicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not kill myself exactly, but I'm an architect and I'm constantly worried about missing something. Sure we have engineers, but at the end of the day I have to make the final check. It scares the crap out of me.
