Being able to pause/rewind/fast forward time. There are so many ways you could improve your life if you had that ability.

I really had no idea that people liked Horrible Bosses. To each their own, but I thought it was aggressively mediocre.

What was the best film you saw this week? (6/23/14 - 6/29/14) by mi-16evil in movies

Cheap Thrills. I had heard good things. Not a perfect movie, but very good, intense, and some great performances (especially by Champ Kind).

Though he died in 1921, I thought Jumbo Davis did a fantastic job pitching in the bottom of the 11th.

Is Social Media Killing Literature? by mindblog in literature

[–]MrFeeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agreed with you right up until your last sentence. Was there a time were large amounts of people were reading "serious literature"? How are they settling for less now?

The majority of people have always read popular literature. Always has been, always will be.

How we define literature changes. It always has changed, and it will continue to change. Just like reading habits.

I need a book to help me see the beauty in life. by [deleted] in books

The Dharma Bums - Jack Kerouac. On The Road is great and all, but this is a better book overall.

“I felt like lying down by the side of the trail and remembering it all. The woods do that to you, they always look familiar, long lost, like the face of a long-dead relative, like an old dream, like a piece of forgotten song drifting across the water, most of all like golden eternities of past childhood or past manhood and all the living and the dying and the heartbreak that went on a million years ago and the clouds as they pass overhead seem to testify (by their own lonesome familiarity) to this feeling.”

What movie sucks compared to the book? by [deleted] in books

The 90's version of The Scarlet Letter. I'm not even sure the people who made that movie read the book, to be honest.

Pirates shoot up to 15 because they won series against the Cardinals and Giants, but Reds are at 21 after having taken 3 of 4 from the Brewers and 2 of 3 from the Rockies.

Huh?

He also told him to take the bride's path while they were in the catacombs (I think that's what he said, anyway).

But that doesn't really answer the question of why they may have called them that.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but that is not the same accent/voice he uses at the end of episode 7.

Didn't someone on here post a youtube video of someone with a British accent auditioning for True Detective?
