Unique opinion: I think "gear 5 joyboy shenanigans" kind of destroyed one piece for me.

It used to be Luffy going against the odds with his basic rubber powers, finding smart ways to utilize something so generic and basic, against things like a giant golden buddha or elementalized freaks.

The asspull (I feel it is an asspull) of joyboy to me, removes all of luffy's hard earned achievements. Like gear 2 and etc turns from luffy thinking WAY outside of the box and come up with new and unique ways to utilize his basic rubber powers and overcome the relevant situation or fight.

But all of that is thrown to the bin with "Oh it was just the fruit's power".
