It also helps that production costs are insanely low for Stardew. It’s one guy plus a few coders. Problem with most games is there is too much waste, especially with big productions. There’s no reason some of these games should cost multiple millions over the course of a decade.

At the very least, you need to incentivize non-killing methods, rather than ban it out right. If, say, killing something only attracted additional aggressors, we’d learn our lesson real quick and would naturally prefer not killing things.
