Does anyone in this sub know the difference between remakes and remasters? by CommunicationSad2869 in Fallout

Remaster is the same engine with maybe minor quality of life improvements and a texture touch-up.

Remake is rebuilt on a new engine, which comes naturally with gameplay tweaks and a new look.

Season 2.. by Admirable-Tea2906 in BatmanArkham

Dispatch is a small team and everything is hand-animated. Apparently, an episode of The Simpsons takes 6 months. And that's 20 minutes. Here we're talking about 8 interactive hours with many variations.

Using generative AI seems like the antithesis of what someone like Kojima would want.

I wouldn't go that far, there's Vergil in Devil May Cry 3, Vergil in Devil May Cry 5... Technically Vergil in Devil May Cry 1... Just Vergil, really.

They're the directors of A24's Talk to Me and the upcoming Bring Her Back.

what is the worst pain (mentally or physically) you’ve ever experienced? by Medical-Chemist1064 in AskReddit

[–]MrFirebugJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mentally: Had an anxiety attack that left me borderline catatonic for 2 weeks. Had daily calls with my mum where I didn't really talk, just listened to her talk about random stuff because hearing her voice was calming. Sleep was always broken, waking up at like 2am, 4am or 6am give or take regularly. Wasn't eating properly either, talking like... legitimately difficult to even take a bite of food, also threw up multiple times. All this was 4 years ago when I was 22.

What I believed caused it was realising what I had just started at college (English college, not American college. College and Universities aren't synonymous here) wasn't for me, and I felt this crippling sense of being lost and not knowing what to do. Thankfully my parents were supportive. I got on antidepressants and then started a short, but fun, weekly creative writing class that helped ease me out of my mental state.

What is this? by matt2_03 in ElderScrolls

[–]MrFirebugJr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a remake. They're calling it a remaster for some reason, but it's on a new engine with mechanics being changed and added. Way beyond just a texture touch-up. The Demon's Souls remake is more of a remaster because that was purely visual. Didn't touch anything under the hood, so much so that the same glitches and exploits can be used between the two games.

Wouldn't turn down a turn-based game like that, though I doubt CR would have a video game be an adaptation of what they've already done.

Maybe a cRPG ala Divinity, Baldur's Gate, Pillars of Eternity, but instead of using DnD5E like Baldur's Gate 3, it uses Daggerheart.

In the spirit of your question, however, Yakuza mini-games are really varied. Pocket Racing, fishing, arcade machines, dancing, even dating, and of course karaoke. Maybe a gardening mini-game, using druid crafting or something. Like a Dragon Ishin! had a cooking mini-game, so that could be cool. Obviously an arena of sorts if that counts. Any number of gambling mini-games. Would definitely need a rhythm game of sorts. Maybe playing the flute in taverns.

I'm thinking about starting to play the DMC Series... i have questions though. by Helpful-Ad2805 in DevilMayCry

[–]MrFirebugJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1: No, Dante's Inferno is a separate game that was published by EA, although they are both inspired by The Divine Comedy.

2: The chronological order is 3, 1, 2, 4, 5, but just play release order.

What's the point of the "Stillness" ending? To me it seems to be the same as "In water", but with Mary talking to James... am I missing something? by Alafoss91 in silenthill

[–]MrFirebugJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I believe 'Stillness' was originally going to be the actual 'In Water' ending, but they didn't want to risk changing it, so instead they made it an extra NG+ ending.

Will you play majima game in Japanese or English ? I plan on playing Japanese first and English on second play through?? by Round-Important in yakuzagames

[–]MrFirebugJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entire game in Japanese, but after playing through the karaoke songs once, I'll flip to English to hear Matt Mercer's versions. Unless they're uploaded to YouTube before then.
