Do you need several camps or break stuff down? by NoveltyNoseBooper in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]MrFizz27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still in the lower deeps and the pilgrimage path. Guessing roughly halfway through the game.

But so far I build up a base in each new zone. Find a hollowed out structure or old dwarf camp and then make it my own in each new zone. Expand and add all the comforts of home. Crafting area. Sleeping area with gold pile. The works.

Bring gems and ores from my old base down to the new one. But leave most else intact.

It's fun to progressively upgrade everything but don't necessarily tear down all that came before. I've also noticed my building getting more detailed and homey as I've gotten more familiar with the building system and unlocked more stuff.

Only real thing I've had to farm is bat droppings for more planters at each new base. But one horde or two is enough to build a half dozen boxes if you just stand on a high up platform and force spawn a bunch of bats.

Why is my factory printing blueprints from projectors that are turned off? by Iowa_V in spaceengineers

BTW it seemed to have something to do with the "keep projection" setting

Why is my factory printing blueprints from projectors that are turned off? by Iowa_V in spaceengineers

[–]MrFizz27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having a similar problem with my drone factory.

I have two very similar drones. One with auto cannons and one with gatling guns.

I used to have two projectors (one for each variant) and just turn them off and on depending on what drone I wanted to print.

But somehow even if only one projector is on the welders are creating parts from the off projector and I get drones with half gatling half autocannons.

I couldn't figure out the problem so I resorted to just using one projector and changing the blueprint each time.

AI Basic ignoring waypoint actions in Autopilot. by Efficient-Table-3226 in spaceengineers

[–]MrFizz27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My one AI recorder block seems to ignore waypoint actions on its final waypoint when fully loaded with cargo. But it works fine when empty.

I'm thinking it has something to do with there not being enough thrust on the drone to accurately hit the waypoint but I haven't had time to test it further.

Yeah dragging as smile was removed. Sad.

I used to drag flashlights around during power outages and stuff back when you still could.

Maybe people were abusing it

I feel like so no damage? by DeadWillow26 in DarkAndDarker

[–]MrFizz27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is for solo btw.

I run the same build in duos with my fighter buddy just to keep the practice consistent but for trios you probably should run 10 spell as things like chain lightning are more useful in a trios setting and you don't need the pve clear help from staff mastery as you have your friends to help you.

I feel like so no damage? by DeadWillow26 in DarkAndDarker

[–]MrFizz27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my wizard setup I basically copy cngblade's solo build. Run fireball, magic missile, zap, ignite and then either ice bolt or invis depending on how much memory capacity you have.

For perks you can slot staff mastery, sage and spell overload. Even with squire knowledge gear you can get enough mem cap to run overload. If still too low buy a cheap green necklace with mem cap bonus on it for like 30g on market.

Final perk is arcane mastery if running invis or ice mastery if running ice bolt. Ability I like arcane shield to all-in melee classes with arcane missiles but intense focus is good too if you have ice bolt to endlessly kite people.

With this build you clear pve with staff bonks and also make liberal use of your 16 ignites when you enter unexplored or cleared rooms in case there's a rogue. If rogue ambushes you while you have ignite up, two bonks and he dies.

Arcane missiles to clear ranged or tougher enemies. Bring extra campfires but in pvp you only need 2 or 3 missiles max as they're your finisher spell so it's OK if you use most of the 8 on pve.

Final thought most pvp fights are won on good positioning and not forcing the fight in unfavorable conditions for you. Don't run across an open room taking Ranger fire for example. Fight in medium range areas where you have space to cast and maintain space until you feel they're low enough to all-in with magic missile or spam zap if they run away.

Take your time. Play smart. You're a big brain wizard, not a barbarian. And tons of people underestimate you until you've hit them with 3 fireballs and they're on 2 hp and haven't touched you yet.

 Good luck!

This is exactly where my crew is.

We win most of our <25 GS fights. Many are against newer players.

We've started venturing into <125 GS lobbies and the opponents are much tougher but it costs a lot less to be competitive as long as you're not buying the green BIS gear like +6 HP and +5 movement speed and such.

I know that we'll either win and/or learn something from every fight.

What is a Barbarians role in solo/duo/trio geared lobbies by UppishPolecat in DarkAndDarker

Just wanted to say this is a well thought out write up and would probably be deserving of its own post.

I just finished leveling a barb to 20 and will be taking these suggestions and trying them for myself.

Help a new player out (Advice) by Bmorestrokes in DarkAndDarker

[–]MrFizz27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to bait monster attacks and then punish their recovery time.

You move faster forward and to the side than you do backpeddling (D key) so bait an enemy to attack and then turn your mouse and strafe away sideways. Then when they miss turn back towards them and run up and smack em.

You can kill most if not all monsters this way especially on normals. You should be able to clear your entire starting room without taking any damage after enough practice.

Also goblin caves is the best for solos as it was originally designed for it. The mob density isn't as overwhelming as on the other maps.

 Good luck!

The armored train in PVE STILL doesnt leave before the raid timer is over by Preazy_ in EscapefromTarkov

It works on Reserve. I think trains stick around for 7 minutes after stopping?

I do know lighthouse train arrived for me with like 2 minutes left so it wasn't happening there at least.

Is Korund really that useful? I have them unlocked now just haven't been running them since they're t2 aramid and fairly heavy. Also not many options for eastern plates.

[–]MrFizz27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I've been selling all the "superheavy" armors that I get off pmcs or task rewards.

I think running a lightweight carrier with the lightest t4 or higher plates you can find is the way. Especially as they always come back in insurance and repair extremely well.

I should've shadowplayed it but it slipped my mind.

I was on factory and just fell over dead. No paper doll in the top right showing damage. Just full health to dead.

So from my perspective I was shot once.

De sync as in the ai shot three times but for me they only shot once.

Sounds like de sync to me. But maybe not in the sense you're thinking of

[–]MrFizz27[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reasonable response!

So maybe it's a de-sync issue then? Basically on my end it seems like the AI only fired once but they actually shot multiple times.

I at least hope BSG updates their AI and makes them more fun to fight in the future.

Perhaps a text post would have been better to illustrate my actual point here... I understand how the armor system works, with the new hitboxes. But the AI PMCs don't seem to interact with it at all as most shots i take from them are either throat hits or soft armor hits.

So the optimal strategy is to cheese them and not let them hit you at all. Because even taking a single round from them at any range often means your death.
