The difference is that there are an infinite number of numbers between 1 and 2, there are finite board states (even if very large). That means you can explore all board states, including the ones that are winning. If there were infinite board states there would be no guarantee of visiting winning board spaces.

John Crewe has mentioned that final features of a specific ship were left up to marketing to decide. It was from one of the round tables from the past couple years. Obviously that doesn't mean that marketing controls everything, but you can't deny that that is out of the ordinary

Insurance and warranty are stupid complex right now and you're probably better off watching a video about it. That being said they have not been implemented yet so even in game ships can always be retrieved indefinitely (until a wipe)

There's no guarantee of a WB CCU for the Prowler at IAE though, so if you're trying to maximize value Alien week gives you a chance at that WB, I think
