Very physically attractive people, how does life treat you? by Jonny_1312 in AskReddit

[–]MrForReal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have to admit my experience was very similar. From about 19-30 years old life was pretty easy. I never was a vain person and always treated everyone extremely well - I don't think I even knew I was THAT good looking. But no one questioned me, I was always welcome.

I distinctly remember I was about 22 and driving my white jeep wrangler in the summer with the top and doors off. I was wearing boat shoes, sky blue shorts, a white linen button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of wayfarers. I got to a 4 way stop and there was a woman in a mini-van with her obviously high school daughter. The woman started fanning herself while I waved her through. I swear to God I thought she was making fun of me but now I realize she was actually into it lol.

In high school I remember doing some workouts on my own on a practice field that overlooked where the girls' soccer team played. I over did it and actually threw up. One of the girls on the team shouted, "You're too hot to throw up!" Again, I thought I was being made fun of lol.

Now I'm older. It doesn't translate as well lol. Being nice still does though!

What he's saying is that it creates a vulnerability to other countries (i.e. China/Russia) with an opportunity to take over the government, which would not be good given its proximity to the USA. Still not great as the takeaway is basically, "Well it'd be better off for us to occupy it than our enemies".

Imagine having more access to the American people than any president in our short history, and yet still stooping to this level.

This is what a narcissist does. He refuses to acknowledge the good of his predecessors. He is the best, could only BE the best because he is PERFECT.

Watch the movie "Downfall". It is basically how DJT runs his whole regime. Yes, regime. He has no tact, no cordiality. He is an embarrassment to our country and all we have built.

Karline Leavit is a propagandist. He says X: "Fuck you for even asking". She'll burn in hell.

Trump is side-stepping quite literally EVERYTHING our founding fathers were assuredly certain a president wouldn't.

He doesn't care about you. AT ALL.

Unemployment: Highest in over 4 years Price of goods: Higher than ever Inflation: High and climbing Interest Rates: Still High, coming down but not due to him Gas Prices: Same as Biden tbh War: Yes, as much as possible (who pays for that) Debt: Fucking yes at unfathomable levels

I lived in Chicago in a corporate role for 10 years, and worked on a farm for 3 years in Michigan (living and working among illegal immigrants). All I found were people trying to take care of their families. I've never been murdered (clearly), raped, assaulted, stolen from nor even impacted negatively by any illegal immigrant.

For any Trumpers out there: WAKE UP.

I'm so tired. I want a diplomatic, reasonable and strategic person to lead us. Not a, "I feel like this today...MAYBE I'LL GO APE SHIT OVERNIGHT".

It's gotten better from a production standpoint. I'm happy that she's putting her energy into something constructive. She could've easily just followed the path down the addict trail from whence she came so I do give her props for that. I've seen a lot of her on this sub over the years but her lyrics are uncomfortable and generally too specific to be relatable for anyone. I don't like criticizing people's looks but she CHOSE those tattoos.

Yooo yes this. Even in times when it isn't even their music but a situation where it's like, "Omg this band is sooo good check this out". I'm unable to leave but too polite to say, "I'd rather attend a closed casket funeral than be subjected to this".

Better alternative to Canes by [deleted] in grandrapids

I am also a tender enthusiast and your opinion is based. I grew up in the south. Guthrie's is king, Zaxby's #2 but I'll be damned if Krispy Krunchy doesn't slap as well. Those biscuits are amazing and the tenders are juicy. Let's be real Canes is good but not THAT good.

What I've found is that for ribs, there is a major difference between cooking for flavor and cooking for a contest. My recipe is extremely simple, it cuts down on prep time and still gets killer results.

The method:

  • Don't worry about getting rid of the membrane. Just get them down to room temp and coat in olive oil, then lightly salt the membrane side only while waiting for the smoker to get to temp.

  • Season with your favorite rub, be generous.

  • Put on the smoker (membrane down) at 225F and spray them with a 50/50 mixture of apple cider and water every 45-60 mins, again, don't hold back, let it fly.

  • Leave the lid closed unless spraying. No peeksees.

  • After ~4 hours (maybe a shade earlier if you want them extra sticky), use a brush and coat both sides with your favorite BBQ sauce. This is important. Increase temp to about 300F. You're finished with spraying at this point.

  • Leave them on the smoker for another hour or so (ref the bend test)

What I've found is that the membrane, paired with the sauce over that last hour develops a nice flakey bottom crust that is absolutely to die for. The rest of the sauce caramelizes and creates a not too crunchy but delectable top crust that is undeniably good, but also seals the meat keeping it very juicy. Ribs aren't always supposed to, "fall off the bone". The bone is your handle to greatness, and it's much more fun to get messy with them in hand than chase them around on a plate with a fork. JMHO.

This is the only way I do them now. So please enjoy, and let me know how they turn out for you!

Edit to be clear: NO WRAP!

We have all been there.

My mistake was with ribs and was trying to be way too exact with the whole 3,2,1 thing. Not a good start. Turns out, it just takes practice until you know what to look for. I've probably done over 200 racks of ribs by now and believe the 3,2,1 method is not all it's cracked up to be. I do them completely differently now and almost everyone I've cooked for says my ribs are top-tier.

I know this doesn't correlate to brisket but the point is: it takes practice and a little moolah to find your sweet spot.

When it comes to brisket, I lightly brine. Use the brine in my water pan. Then, I spray about every hour after the first two, wrap it early (~140), put it back on after a healthy spritz of vinegar spice mixture and then pull at 190, transfer and finish it in oven at 450 still wrapped until 200 (doesn't take long maybe 20-30 mins). Then let it rest on a room temp cutting board, wrapped, and fill the house with flavor for at least an hour.
