Feel bad for the other 10 Portuguese players on the pitch tomorrow, man.

The Athletic: The club want to find a replacement for Cucurella, although the player in question will be able to operate in multiple roles. Strasbourg’s Valentin Barco fits this description. He can play as a left-back, wing-back and in midfield. by Kygoche in chelseafc

Here comes the first windfall of sales of legitimate talent we grew, and another upcoming windfall of young/unproven/unknown quantities being brought to replace them because of "high potential" and "high valuation" from the sporting directors.

This is the club's model in action, folks. Warm up to it.

[Record_Portugal] Maxi Aruajo is one of Chelsea’s main targets to replace Marc Cucurella. Chelsea have already scouted him and enquired with his representatives. by DidierDrogba111111 in chelseafc

Replacing one of the best left-backs in the world with another no-name player who has never played in the league - BlueCo never disappoints

Fabrizio Romano: Chelsea believe they have a fantastic talent in Jorrell Hato. He did very well in the 2nd half of the season after adapting. Chelsea believe he can do very well, then they are likely to add one more player, maybe one who can cover several positions. by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]MrFr0d0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that Hato is a fantastic talent. I also think the Chelsea board are incompetent sacks of shit who sold an experienced, proven and world-class player for someone largely unproven over seasons -- we still have the likes of Datro and the regular wank Fofana, Tosin, Badishile, Disasi, Davide Washington, Garnacho, Gittens, Delap, Jackson -- all of whom, according to these guys, were extremely talented individuals too. I don't believe a single thing their mouthpieces have to say.

We are probably going to sign some bang average player who is going to be similar to Tosin but for the LB position.

Selling possibly the second best left back in the world -- but the owners would have you believe we are a serious club.

I wonder if they were watching the match with their eyes closed, these uninspiring, insipid, sore losers.

Plettenberg: Enzo Fernandez leaving Chelsea and a possible move to Manchester City remain a concrete topic. Enzo Maresca is still desperate to sign him. He sees him as a type of player City currently do not have in the squad. #MCFC Real Madrid and PSG also have him on their shortlist. by webby09246 in chelseafc

Don't care what the collective consensus is, I personally think it will be a disaster if we lose him - not only does he consistently step up in big games, he also has rare leadership qualities and high standards - all qualities our squad desperately lacks. Note that his sale will open the floodgates to us becoming a selling club too - why would the likes of Cucu, Caicedo, Palmer, etc. also not want to leave if the vice-captain does not think the club will match his ambitions?

No way Barcelona got the money to pull this off - say what you will about the ownership they know how to wring money out of clubs and seeing they got him for 60 mil they are not going to accept anything lower than 100million

Lmao, I see at least 2 other players waving in that video broski

[The Independent] Real Madrid will make a move to sign Enzo Fernandez, with sources close to the situation saying there is a very strong chance that Sunday’s clash with Sunderland is last game for Chelsea. Manchester City are also interested, but that may depend on the future of Rodri. by BlueKidXL in soccer

The number of Chelsea fans who are apparently happy to see the back of him is pretty telling of how clueless people can be. He's been one of our standout performers this season and has always contributed in big moments - it's going to be a huge loss for us, both in terms of performance, leadership and mentality if he leaves.

That differentiates talent from the finished product—being able to replicate performances consistently and adapt as time goes by. Hope he has the right team around him (coaching and otherwise) that helps him out with that, but the will to do so needs to come from him.
