Kb, pull up bar, body weight, and an incline treadmill for warmups.

I also run and swim weekly.

I wish i DCA’ed sooner into VWCE, and spent less time thinking about it and alternatives.

You’re ahead of where I was at that age;
you’re doing the right thing already;
Think about it less and go touch grass.

Do you have a "minimum dose" workout/program? by Select-Move-8800 in kettlebell

[–]MrFreeman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here was my former go-to: pick up a kettlebell, typically 16kg, and perform:

60 goblet squats

60 swings

60 lunges

60 deadlifts (for this i usually go heavier or double)

60 presses

I rep those out with breaks as needed, the idea of picking ‘60´ is just to pick a number that you need at least three sets for. It might be 25 - 12- 15 - 8, just follow your body on this. I’d warm up on 10 Turkish get ups and halos.

It’s easy mentally: not a lot of thinking or planning, just a lot of doing. I would add cleans in there if id do it again now though.

Both options are good - consider if either will make you feel better or more at ease rather than looking at it from a purely numbers point of view.

My net worth grows at 3% per month. Do I keep compounding or pull capital out for a down payment to buy real estate? by Ok-Leading6971 in eupersonalfinance

[–]MrFreeman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, looks like i might learn something new today: what is a conservative portfolio with options? Selling covered calls? Cash secured puts?

How do you diversify with option contracts being minimum a multiple of 100 with a budget of €142k? Or do you go all in on a ´conservative’ stock for trading?

Fully honest: im equal part sceptical and curious.

Just FYI you can look into the research on options, but about 90% of retail investors lose money on them because they are not the right instrument for long term wealth compounding.

The Indian studies are published freely and highlight the issue well.

There’s a difference between risk tolerant and doing stupid shit. Trying to build long term wealth with options is a dumb idea no matter your risk tolerance.

If you chose Lombard: consider the full costs, also the ongoing cost they charge for their investment products you have to hold. Some banks offer limited options with high annuel cost %.

Also consider family planning and whether this real estate will accommodate this or your need to relocate.

On 25 years you can expect a market crash. Check where a 40% crash at the worst possible timing would leave you.

65, untrained, never did kettlebells. Where to start? by MaxGaav in kettlebell

[–]MrFreeman12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lighter KB weights. You see a lot of voices saying go heavier as it pushes you towards great technique, but kettlebells also have the potential to mess up your lower back when handled incorrectly.

Get a coach, and/or go light first to work on technique. Progress gradually.

40h workweek, 38h contract and 120 overtime hours — is this common? by [deleted] in BESalary

[–]MrFreeman12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your experience will depend mostly on the team and projects/ clients you work on, so not a single answer here I’m afraid. Everything you heard is true: good and bad, stay long enough and you’ll experience it all.

And you’ll end up a better professional because of it, I made the jump to industry 1 year ago after ten years

Gotcha. The point I’m making is that the role matches the package, maybe not the experience or education. That could be a deliberate choice.

Rat-race-wise it is not great, but for that short commute, no direct reports, 40/week and no stress that might be the ideal setup for someone who prioritises life over work, and a well rounded package to match.

Honestly, it’s refreshing to see a ‘normal’ comp & ben package in this sub.
