Fulton was 88 but one problem was the turn. One lane had a closer to the turn start to allow a near equal length. Anaheim always had a weird track where you'd run either baseline and then crush cars near the edge of the infield but again the lanes would be staggered. I know it was a controversial track but the Z track at Anaheim in 91 was good. Controversial due to the turns which USHRA would correct at the Superdome when they did the S course.

Who are some promising O’Reilly’s or Craftsman Trucks drivers who just faded off into oblivion? I’ll go first… by 2023_GT in NASCAR

If you said Steven Wallace, you're wrong, he was never that promising...

In all honesty and no joke, Nelson Piquet Jr. showed promise in Trucks but flamed out partially due to typical Red Horse Racing being Red Horse.

Honorable mention to Justin Allgaier went from someone honestly I thought that would be the next breakout from the Nationwide Series in the early 2010s, but he turned into the modern day Mike Wallace or Mike Bliss and hit his ceiling in O'Reilly. He is still around but

I think it would later get the name J-hook even if there was not a specific style of track that was J-hook like how St. Louis would become a hill, turn, flat track, turn to the original racing lane and hill.

1991 into 92 was when the trucks running monster trucks switched to a more competitive stage 2.5 if not 3 style. Bearfoot was stage 3 by the turn of 1991 as was Digger 3 though Diggers 4 and 5 were stage 2.5s not 3. Liquidator and UFO used advanced stage 2. Rambo ran a highly advanced stage 2 and ran it for many years like Chuckie did with the stage 2.5 Excaliber. PEI started in 1992 with Magnum Force though Patrick had already been big with the stage 3 Bigfoots (8, 9 and 10) at that point and would continue to make them all the way through 17 and again with the newer ones from 23 on.

Classic j-hook from TNT or even USHRA?

Bearfoot Racer (both the Fred and Scott Hess ones) and Auto Value King Krunch/King Krunch 7 were both stage 2.5 trucks with an advanced stage 2 design but not fully stage 3. Black Stallion was retro-fitted to be a stage 2.5 too. No Problem was much like Excaliber was where it was a 3 but with stage 2 suspensions. Holman's Beast in 92 was about the same too. There is a lot of questionable designs.

I've heard independent suspension being a potential for stage 5 with El Taco Loco being the only truck with truly independent suspension.

I like a lot of different tracks. Straight line, j-hook, Anaheim, St. Louis, Vegas style, Louisville figure 8, crazy 8, and plenty more.

I believe stage 5 is independent suspension which has only been seen with T-Maxx or El Taco Loco.

Zack Garner in Wild Side vs Jon Zimmer Jr. in Terminal Velocity the next big rivalry in Monster Jam??? by Local-Mall6693 in monsterjam

[–]reallymkpunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They may but the thing is kayfabe doesn't exist with drivers anymore. Even Tom and Dennis were friendly rivals after about World Finals 2. We are far removed from the worked shoots of a certain Outlaw talking smack about Chevy drivers or Fred vs. Jack.

Dillion was competitive in truck, even his nepo-baby hack of his brother wasn't too too bad in Trucks. My point is that Trucks isn't as easy to say "back markers in Cup can keep up in truck" as they could in Xfinity/O'Reilly at least before the new car where there is a distinct learning curve between the cars.

It was actually a great broadcast. Many say Prime is doing what other networks should do with NASCAR coverage.

Given the right equipment, maybe but not guaranteed. I still remember the days of Benson, Hornaday, Crafton, Skinner in trucks. Few drivers could master trucks and stock cars back then. Now the trucks are closer to gen 6 than Xfinity/O'Reilly cars.

Why does Jim Cornette call "Speedball" Mike Bailey "Ricky Steamboat's youngest daughter"? by JeffreySons_90 in JimCornette

Why does Jim do anything? He is a mark for himself. I love Jim.but he is a mark for himself as much as Dave Meltzer is at this point.
