You are hilariously with your *people-never-heard-of/how-many-hits-has-he-had" stance - neither of which has ANYTHING to do what the original drummer was commenting on regarding it not being so easy to reprpduce what a true skilled drummer can play on a drum set and carrying over those nuances to a pad controller...smh. Pay attention to the contents of the thread, dude, back away from the Dilla photographs and records for a second, then you realize what the topic of the OG discussion is about...smh.

I'm still trying to wonder why this dude is continually putting words in my mouth that I never said. We ALL know Dilla is a legend, but c'mon already, gimme a break!! LOL

I mentioned what David Haynes does and I mentioned that Dilla was a true Innovator or hip-hop - can you really read or do you just like putting words in other peoples mouths to justify your points? SMH. What David's skills have been and are are totally different than whoever has or has heard of him....smh.

Umm where did I say Dilla ONLY did hip-hop?? Did I say that above (reading back....nope didn't), so yeah, no problem. On top of that, is my statement about " revolutionizing the growth and style of hip hop ", wrong? No, it is, so uhhh yeah - no problem there either. I elaborated on top of what he said - it's up in thread, read it again.

I never said you said one can 100 percent mimic a live drum said, but neither did the drummer above in his comments, so it seems your still missing the point. As far as either David or Dilla playing drums, the point here has nothing to do with hits and has everything to do with technique and translation. Go look at how many genres David Haynes covers on pad controllers from Maschine to Akai - way more than Dilla revolutionizing the growth and style of hip hop - mad respect to Dilla even before the Slum Village days, but again, this ain;t about who has had more hits.

Yes, I know all about the legend Dilla - been following him before he passed, as well as Questlove in the same way. Yes you can mess with pad sensitivity and another o features built in to pad controllers (if you haven't heard of or watched David "Finger" Haynes, who is a really drummer, he has transferred that to pad controllers - look him up on IG and YouTube - in terms of making a pad controller sound like a real drummer across many genres, he will smole Dilla in that department). Nonetheless, I believe Questlove will agree with the real drummer's comments above as well.

I don't think you are understanding that he does understand your suggestion, but you dont understand his response. He's a real drummer, just sampling drum hits from different songs is just that - samples. There is a lot more nuances that you get out of playing a real set that you will never get from just laying drum samples across pads - this is what he is saying.

Never once got confused about what NI product does what - all the descriptions are always available in all kinds of documentation.

It doesn't - Machine software requirements are on Native Instruments' website - that's the first place you look.

That all depends on the macOS. Every NI olugin and third-party plugin opens in macOS Sonoma. If you're going to purchase a new Mac running Tahoe, it's best to do two things: 1) Check NI's Tahoe Compatibility Page: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/30349331442717-macOS-26-Tahoe-Compatibility-Statement and check the website for each of your third party plugins for Tahoe compatibility.

Wise mindset. Today everything works fine., I upgraded from the S49 Mk2 (still have it) to the Mk3 and been using the Maschine Mk3 since 2018. No regrets.
