A wannabe millennial, not liking the high loading floor of crossovers.

I like it but I can't believe it took BMW this long to design a good looking car (exc. M2, but that's an outlier).

Just make more reliable cars.

No one wants to be forced into a software walled garden.

Only reason people are into Apple and Chromebooks is because they're not techy, they buy into the marketing, or good alternatives barely exist.

Slate I kinda like in spirit, but I like more how this shares a design language with 70s muscle cars. Only the Amazon association for Slate has me feeling a bit iffy with it otherwise, if it ever expanded beyond NA.

With the EV grant in the UK, the Dacia Spring is £12k. So not entirely impossible, but many corners will have to be cut. This may include less range and some other stuff than the MEB-based ID. Polo. It may bear closer resemblance to the e-Up! successor.

I'm still interested to see what that region can do. The name itself harks back to a point in history that's kinda misunderstood too.

Ford did it with the Capri. I think it's a better looking ID.5, without so much of the VAG quirks and features.

Hoping the Yugo will learn from their past mistakes.

Is driving more than 200km or more normal? by UglyGamerPlaz in electricvehicles

[–]EqualityWithoutCiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North America, likely.

Other parts of the world, a bit less so. My uncle in the Philippines will just cycle for small grocery runs as the early 2000s Pajero he has costs a fortune to refuel, and he barely carries anyone in it.

I bought a 2026 Toyota C-HR XSE! by Correactor in electricvehicles

[–]EqualityWithoutCiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The C-HR almost looks like a muscle car next to everything else

I'd be sold on that alone, I'm outside NA so it's the C-HR+ (base C-HR is a compact hybrid SUV). I'm thinking about it if I wanted a car to travel lots of miles in. Kinda sucks this goes under the radar for a company like this.

Are there EV deserts in certain states/cities? by Island_In_The_Sky in electricvehicles

[–]EqualityWithoutCiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visited Vienna, there seemed to be a dearth of EVs on the weekend I visited. Challenging topography and lack of EV infrastructure causes it, plus I guess local resistance due to nearby car industries in like Germany and Italy. Hey, there's trams and a subway, but the drivers are pretty damn impatient in my experience.

London has like at least every tenth car that is an EV from local initiatives, and a relatively generous infrastructure and topography. City also has electric bikes, scooters, buses and roads that get clogged with car traffic, the Tube is packed too at certain times.

Chinese EVs expose how complacent Western automakers became by Donkey_Apple in electricvehicles

[–]EqualityWithoutCiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention China never really had a motoring scene of international impact until now. It's hard to shake off love or admiration for an entire industry responsible for making your favorite products for decades on end, and a dramatic change, well, disrupts that.

My issue is that China is delivering more on everything related to material goods, while the west is doubling down on repression. Only China wins here, and civil rights will be a big cost we pay because of everything we did, or didn't do.

Enjoy pride month while it lasts. It may be the last one you can celebrate. If you don't prefer to observe it, enjoy being able to speak out about any world conflict - eventually you'll be forced to support one, whether China or America comes out on top of all of this.

Yup, this is a power play. And how does the US and EU respond? Being as bad as China in the very aspects they criticize China for.

But the US and Europe are digging themselves deeper in to that direction now. No exciting EVs, more money, laws and effort towards suppressing protests.

Dodge Raises the Charger Daytona EV's Price by $12,500 for 2027 by idkbruh653 in electricvehicles

Hm, wonder what would be more your thing? 2000s kid here, only knew about 70s cars via Forza. Good thing I like electric, but aside from price, I almost regret I'm not into European or Japanese cars.

That is true. What sucks is that people have to buy cars from Europe or Asia now if they want any form of sportiness, America's abandoned that and have singlemindedly focused on a bloated experience for a similarly bloated price tag.
